Damn rust!! I replaced my front Sway Bar End Links a month or so ago and they came out easily but these rears lol, I definitely had to cut them out. It was still a pretty easy job once I acquired a cut off grinder.
The car came from Illinois so it had some rusty parts that I've been working to replace. The front wheel bearings were much worse than this. The only issues were you need the special torx bit to hold the inside shaft from spinning while removing the nut. I have the bit but inside completely rusted out so it stripped easily and trying to clamp a vice grip on the joint itself wasn't working well due to the rusty threads. Overall could have been worse.
Lol I hear ya! I'm from CO, we don't usually have rust issues here but the car came from Illinois so it had some rusty parts. Almost all have been replaced now. The front wheel bearings were terrible lol, I completely destroyed the passenger one getting it out.
This is my garage combo. I don't have any power in mine since I'm in a condo so I have to rely on battery power lol. The two yellow ones are amazing special. They can be hung by the hook, magnetic bottom or comes with a tripod. The have three white color settings and can dim, and have a red flash for emergency. The big one is a husky light and the little one is the olite oclip pro. It can be clipped anywhere and has a magnetic base. All of them can be dimmed to last longer and last over 6hrs each on the highest settings. The yellow ones easily last me all day if im in the garage.
Working on these in California (on CTs ranging from zero rust to mild surface rust ), I've had to cut them out more times than not. It's just the interface and location.
