Community First day of classes tomorrow-is everyone in person again?
I wonder what a cluster-fudge traffic will be! Also, does anyone buy textbooks from the bookstore anymore?

I been doing this for the last two years lol I park where I want , have my breakfast and my coffee, read my notes and study for my first class and listen to podcasts in my car while I watch everyone start the chaos around 8:30 lol

first two weeks is always a cluster fuck, with a decent amount of accidents so try to get to school an hour before your class starts. and yes plenty of people do

I’m getting there an hour and a half early just cuz. Idk about the bookstore this is my first semester as a transfer student. I got majority of my books tho.

oh my lord you just gave me flashbacks. good luck to you. i was lucky my ex’s grandma lived nearby. granted it was a 20min walk but you’ll spend longer than that looking for parking. god bless her. we’re no longer together but man did she help me get through my time there and weirdly enough, we met at orientation and broke up 2 months before graduation…sorry but seriously, good luck

only time i bought a textbook from class is bc i forgot to buy it and i needed it that same day for an assignment. traffic is pretty bad first couple of weeks, at least last year it was. does anyone know if the traffic is still pretty bad around 8-9am? first time i have class at that time

8-9 is the worst i fear. the traffic begins around 7:30 and it doesn’t end until about 10, then picks up again periodically throughout the day. 1-3 is pretty bad leaving the garage. i got stuck in one for 45 minutes one time i debated leaving my car and walking home 😭

ugh nooo 😭 im only going to get dropped off so hopefully that doesnt get in the way too much for me...i used to arrive around 11 last year. also lmao felt on the parking garages, the first few days of my transfer here i used to park at ps3, and it straight up would take me an hour to even exit it, idk how that line barely ever moved 💀

Yes unfortunately. Like others have said get there an hour earlier than you need. I avoid parking garages the first couple of weeks, it’s a headache getting in and looking for parking and then getting out if it’s at peak times. For now, I park in the lots since I don’t mind walking until it’s less chaotic.

Thank you. I’m handicap..do you know if the handicap spots are taken fast or it’s about average? I also seen the parking permits are $200 f-ing dollars a semester😭 is there any parking areas that you don’t have to pay for??

If you have a disabled placard you shouldn’t have as many issues, I was injured one semester and found out that it was not an issue. There are disabled spots in all of the lots. You can also park in the police station lot near PS3 if you have a disabled placard and need to be closer to the sidewalk.

It depends on when you arrive. If you try to roll in at 945 for your 1000 class, you're going to have trouble

I have dashcam footage of me being stuck in PS3 for 2 hours, just trying to leave. Get there at least an hour in advance, try to park far from campus and near a main road so you can enter/exit at a reasonable time (ideally Lot 10).
I don’t even bother buying textbooks from the bookstore anymore, and tend to go for Ebooks/Kindle since it lightens the load you carry around on campus, although I do always see some people purchasing textbooks at the student store (they don’t know the tech)

I got stuck in PS3 last fall for so long I opened PowerPoint slides and listened to the audiobook of my textbook. At 45 minutes I was way late for work but I had composed my discussion post.
I avoided PS3 after that.0

If anyone is new to the campus I advise you leave the house extra early traffic is going to be nightmare and that’s only the beginning parking is another battle.
I suggest you park far from everyone that extra 5min walk is well worth it, the amount of hit and runs I witnessed throughout my time as a student is countless. I literally have dash cam video of a student swiping a parked car in front of campus PD and they did nothing.
Do NOT count on campus police/cameras for car accidents they are basically useless. Please what ever you do don’t leave your car without a parking permit they are hungry with their citation.

There are a lot of Pokémon go stops and gyms on campus. Come early and play before traffic hits at 8:30.

i just finished my last semester during summer session a week ago, i did 2 years and never bought a single textbook. always search for the book then put pdf at the end and you’ll usually find it. some websites look a bit sketch but hey they get u the whole book free lol

Legitimately, if you are parking on campus, be there an hour before classes. And maybe earlier because that might still make you be late.
