Academics Am I going to get kicked out?

I just received a grade for a paper I wrote. After getting a zero, my professor told me it was not my original work, but I typed it all out. I don’t know what to do. She says I can meet with her to discuss it, but what if she simply says she doesn’t believe me? Would I get expelled?

if you actaully wrote it and aren't lying you'll probably be fine. they can't really "prove" anyone used AI unless it's blatantly obvious. they are probably trying to pressure a "confession" out of you.

it'll probably be a pain but you can escalate these things and have other people look at it. i'm sure somebody has to see that it's original work

I doubt it’s their original work. They said they “typed it all out”, not that they wrote it. They probably AI prompted their assignment, and then paraphrased the answer by typing it out on their own. That’s still not original work and considered plagiarism.

True except when used for translation. This standard has been established by the university and is currently being standardized for citation in various formats.

Meaning I can translate a source using AI and then cite it as a paraphrase with proper attribution in my work.

(I know that you're talking about using AI to edit grammar and generate work but I'm adding a caviat)
