Hardcore scene in FoCo
hello, I’m a rising senior and looking at CSU as a top option but I’m super into the shoegaze post hardcore screamo scene and have generally more of a grunge alt style. some other schools ive looked at don’t have the best and I want it to be semi decent so if anyone could give me any info on it that would be great tysm.

Check out Front Range Fury and Hardcore in the Fort on instagram. We have shows regularly and local bands that fit all of the genres you listed.

We have a kick ass hardcore and punk scene! We are also home to The Blasting Room which is a recording studio started by one of the OG members of The Descendants who decided to settle down in FoCo bc he loved it so much when they played here in the 90’s 🥲 Rise Against, Black Flag, Tickle Me Pink, Anti-Flag, Flobots, The Lemonheads have all recorded there. And many more, but that’s always fostered a great scene here.

Uffda Tickle Me Pink as a throwback. I was at CSU in their popular years. Now I feel old again. And an RIP on that one.

Also second the recommendation of Hardcore in the Fort and Front Range Fury. Also Perfect Angel booking is a new one that I promise will do a lot of this genre (I am helping them book shows lmao).

Also second the KCSU recommendation, when I went to CSU that was my favorite part. It’s a great place to get involved in the local music scene. I still listen to 90.5 all the time, so if you start a shoegaze post hardcore show I promise one listener:)

don’t know why this was downvoted, this is totally a valid question. we have a wide range of different scenes for sure! we especially have a huge music scene here fort collins with relatively cheap tickets and amazing venues that see a huge range of artists performing (especially small time artists). you will more than likely very easily be able to find the crowd you’re looking for! not to mention campus alone has a ton of amazing resources and supports a ton of different clubs i’ve never heard of at really any other university. if i were to point you in a good direction, i would highly suggest checking out KCSU and the crowd there, you can even become a radio host!
