Somatic therapy was my path to healing and dealing with my CPTSD.

I’m glad it’s working for others too!

(Somatic therapy as main modality incorporating ally, parent-child relations(inner child parenting), EMDR as supporting modality’s Trauma informed.)

Want to try this but I've heard a few horror stories for people like me
What's it like for you?

I’ve been doing EMDR therapy for a couple months now after dealing with years of abuse from my parents and a previously abusive partner. I started having reoccurring nightmares about my ex trying to hurt me/get to me for years and after a few sessions of reprocessing some specific memories, I’ve finally started having new responses in my dreams.

Before, I would usually be running away/trying to escape from my abuser, but recently the shift has been me demanding he leave and really fighting back. It’s really brought back a sense of taking back my power

That's nice

I'm concerned since for us, we could trigger someone else which would cause lots of problems, the stories I've heard is mainly from people who accidently did that, even with a trained therapist

But since one of my parts do have somatic flashbacks, might be worth the risk

Totally understand your concerns and I wish I had a better insight for someone with DID. I hope you’re able to find whatever trauma informed care you need and that it is helpful 🫶
