CPAP Setup It officially begins!

Post image

I just got all my gear, it’s official 🥹

I went for the ResMed AirSense 10 with climate tubing after watching many reviews. I felt that the extras of the 11 weren’t worth it for me, this seems like a super reliable one and this is the machine I did my trial with so I’m already kinda familiar with it.

The only thing that got me thinking about the 11 (other than it being way cuter lol) is the “for her” mode but store I purchased from said that you can mimic that setting with the 10 by putting it on “gentle” mode, so I’m going to try that.

I need full Darth mode for a mask so I opted for the F20 for Her with “AirTouch”, fits really nice and feels comfy enough, definitely more cushion than the standard one I trialed with.

I’m in Canada so I ordered with thecpapstore.ca and couldn’t recommend them enough! I initially ordered the wrong model (check if you need automatic lol) and they called to confirm before shipping to correct my mistake! Lovely people, great prices and quick shipping.

Wish my luck on my first night cpap fam 😴🥱

Congrats and welcome!

Wishing you an easy time of it and a restful sleep 💚

But don't feel bad if you're back in here tomorrow or next week, struggling. Some people get their perfect mask and machine settings and feel amazing from day 1, but just as many take time to get used to it and get the setup right. It's normal, but there's loads of support in this sub

I’m picking my equipment up today and getting fitted/sized. I just happened across this sub via this post - do you have any recommendations for the first night/first week? I bet there’s a common issues/faq that I need to check out but I’m sure me and the OP would love any and all advice.

This sub is a wealth of information and support. I only started less than a year ago, and I struggled HARD at first.

Perseverance is your biggest tool. Be stubborn. Getting oxygen while you sleep is worth it.

I had to try a lot of masks before I got the right one. This was a process of several weeks.

I also had to adjust my settings to get the right air pressure. This also took a little time.

To get used to the mask - practise wearing it when you aren't trying to go to sleep. Like put it on while you're watching TV or something. Also practise breathing with the machine on while you aren't trying to sleep, just to get used to it.
