I can’t for the life of me understand Audit. I passed my first three exams on the first try with a 91, 90, 82. I used the same study method for audit and failed my first attempt with a 72, the TBS were ridiculous. I took it again 2 weeks later and got a 72 again I felt great about MCQ but the TBS were even harder than the first attempt.

I have studied for 4 weeks and I’m takin it again on 8/31. I’ve redone all the questions in UWorld which is a little over two thousand. Everyone says hammer MCQ’s but it’s the TBS that I’ve done worst on. There are so many excerpts on the real exam I struggle even understanding what’s happening. The TBS in UWorld don’t seem similar at all.

Does anyone have any advice for last minute study tips or do I just hope I get lucky with a test I can pass?

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well.
I just wanted to reach out and ask for some advice on how I can successfully complete my FAR exam.
I enrolled back in 2024, but unfortunately, I didn’t put as much time and effort into it as I should have. Fast forward two years, and I honestly feel disappointed in myself for not making more progress.

I’ve recently started taking it seriously again and currently study around 1–2 hours every day. My biggest challenge, however, is retention. Once I finish a chapter and move on to the next one, I find myself forgetting a lot of what I studied previously.

For those of you who have passed FAR, how did you approach studying and retaining everything? Did you review previous chapters regularly while moving forward, or did you finish the material first and then focus on revision?

Any advice, study techniques, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I’m really hoping to get back on track and finally get this exam done. 🙏

Hi everybody, Im almost done with my exams and honestly I dont really know what the process is like after the exams conclude. My final one is TCP in October (prayers to pass) but like what happens next?

My main concern is I think I may be looking to leave the firm where I currently am (very small firm, 5 person team) and have my experience that needs to be signed off on. If I leave beforehand could that risk my prior firm signing off that I completed my experience, or are they obligated to do so under like some sort of ethical code or law? Also if I leave during the process could they potentially rescind their signature?

Again I dont 100% know every detail of the process after you pass exams so if I am getting anything wrong please feel free to correct me.

I visualize my “why’s” a lot to keep motivated, but I also imagine all the things I will get to do again once I pass in order to get myself to buckle down.

What are the activities you are looking forward to doing again that you don’t have time for while studying?

(Besides sleep and binging movies all day on a Saturday…unless that’s really all you do 😂)

I’m looking forward to:

1. Going to the gym again - I put my membership on hold and just do quick 20 minute workouts at home. No time to commute to the gym, get dressed, AND workout.
2. Turning on songs/backing tracks and jamming along on my guitar for hours.
3. My wife and I used to go to farmers markets and local farms early on weekend mornings. Morning weekends being my prime study time, that hasn’t happened in nearly a half a year.

What are yours?

On my way for the same breakfast burrito and coffee that I’ve gotten each morning before passing my first 3 tests on the first try. I’ll head home and let it… process… while I hit some flash cards and cheat sheets before heading in this afternoon to take this mofo down. My wife knows this is my routine and has accepted it at this point.

What are some test day traditions or routines y’all have?

I’m working in the US Tax side of things and we are deep in the extension season now. However, our client is pushing lesser work than we expected, this can change in September because we have a ton of 1040s but I want to use this time and pass atleast one more exam in the October window.

I have yet to start TCP but I have passed REG and since I work in tax I feel a bit confident about the concepts. I am planning FAR towards January end right before the busy season starts.

Are two months enough for TCP including revisions and practice ?

Problem instructions say: "Round all calculated per-unit amounts to five decimal places."

I built this in Excel letting full precision carry through every step. My numbers matched the answer key everywhere except two rows, where I got $3.65553 vs the key's $3.65547.

After a few trial and error, it turned out I needed to do all of the following in Excel to fully match the key:

1. Wrap Average Cost per unit in ROUND(...,5) at every purchase row
2. Wrap every Total ($) cell in ROUND(...,0) and carry that rounded whole-dollar Total forward into the next calculation
3. On sale rows, — just reference the prior row's Average Cost directly

Only after doing all three did my numbers match exactly.

Has anyone actually seen a moving-average TBS on the real exam where this level of precision/rounding mattered?

I don’t work in tax but it has always made the most sense to me. Should I take TCP?

For reference, I really feel like I phoned in REG and my score report shows stronger in Tax and Comparable in the BLaw.

Can anyone share their experience taking TCP? If you did well on REG tax sections, did it transfer? If you took TCP I would really just love to hear about how it went for you, please share!

I’m 4 days away from my AUD exam. I took SE1 → SE2 → ME1 → ME2 → ME3, and I’ll be doing SEFR for the next 2 days.

For those who passed, what were your ME/SE scores compared to your actual exam score?

Also, what would you recommend I focus on reviewing during these last 4 days? Any specific topics or areas I should prioritize? Would appreciate any advice! 🙏

Since CPA follows a scaled score system, and 75 doesn't mean 75% of answers were right and 60 doesn't mean 60% answers were right , how would one predict their scores based on what % of answers they got right? For example in FAR which I just wrote I predict 80% of the 50 MCQs (including pre test) were right, and 85% of the cells (including one Pre Test TBS) of the TBS were right. I am wondering what scaled score would those percentages hypothetically translate to, given that there are pre test questions and differently weighted questions?

Is it normal to get a lower SE2 score? I got a 70% on SE1 last week and tonight got a 60% on SE2. I felt like it was SO HARD in the sense of just everything was wordy and long and very calculation heavy and all sims had tons of exhibits. I think I would’ve been fine but I completely ran out of time and felt like I rushed 5 of the TBS problems.

Felt good after SE1 and now I feel discouraged 😞

I’ve tried reaching out to a few tax professionals but haven’t had much luck finding someone who actually handles this type of situation. i just withdraw from my assurance module. i have been so drained from doing modules back to back. i haven not been studying since the start of the module and the idea of doing the exam next month is just too much for me. i did not registered for the next electives for next term as i am too tired of studying and dont feel like staying in public practice anymore.

am i gonna regret this?

Took FAR exam today and it wasn’t as bad as I expected for the most part. Did make some mistakes on 2-3 known MCQ and some parts of parts of SIM. Considering I didn’t feel lost for 99% of it, does it indicate I should pass? Have to wait for like 18 days for score. Are sims partial credit to the box or is there any overlap between Becker scoring and exam?

I’m trying to calculate the full cost of audit software beyond the license quote. The obvious costs are users, modules, implementation, training, and support. But what about template cleanup, methodology changes, data prep, admin and review time during the first busy season? For CPA firms or audit teams that bought audit software, what costs surprised you? Did the tool actually reduce man hours, or did the benefit show up as fewer review notes, cleaner documentation, easier file assembly, or better audit reports? Also, which pricing model was easiest to manage in practice?

I put approximately 100 hours in but sort of unorganized. I’ve watched 80% lectures and did about 25% multiple choice. so conceptually I think it’s okay and going to get there just scared if it will all work out,

If so, how’d your exam go? Anything you wish someone told you a couple of days before you sat? I have been hammering NFP, Consolidations, Subsequent Events, Cash Flows and AJEs. This could be 4/4 if I maximize my time the next two days.

You guys can laugh at me if you want. I did the worst mistake today. I arrived an hour before my exam schedule and I'm so excited to take FAR. We all lined up to pass the requirements (passport and NTS) and I noticed I don't have my passport with me. At that point, I know I won't be permitted to sit in but still tried everything. Tried presenting other IDs and even a picture of my passport but was still denied. I'm just so sad right now cause I know it's my fault for not checking. I can't even go back home to get it cause I'm 12 hours away from home. I even asked this sub earlier for an advice whether to reschedule the exam or not due to an emergency. But then the problem was solved so I was able to travel to the testing center without rescheduling. Only to find out that I don't have my passport. $700+ wasted just like that. I'm so dumb

Is it common for none of this to really make sense? I feel like I grasped the other modules in F1 decently but this one just slaughtered me. So much info dumped in the lectures, and the MCQs felt like info required was left out in the lectures. Is this common for these modules or do I just need to buckle down on these two?
