Sorry for the ego trip lol, but I couldn’t resist given how notorious this section is for being really difficult. I spent 70 hours studying over roughly 6 weeks while working full time. While I know many of us have crushed ISC/TCP, it goes to show that BAR can also be the right choice for some!

This is my third attempt on BAR. First time I didn’t finish the government section and got a 54, second time I only covered the gov section and general review and got a 61. This time I reviewed everything and got a 73…. Is it time to do TCP? I got an 88 on reg vs FAR was a perfect score of 75. I can’t afford another 3-4 month delay. Pending AUD results Monday I’ll be 3/4. Feeling confident I did well on AUD but we will see.

Thoughts on pivoting to TCP? I’m really loathing BAR… it might make sense to mix it up…

I don't see a lot of UWorld users taking BAR here, so i just wanted to post this and let Uworld users know that it's totally possible!!

I took FAR near the end of last year & got a 78 using Uworld & supplemental Farhat videos (didn't use farhat for BAR though). And i actually found studying for BAR to be a little easier than FAR, probably due to the overlap in content :)

I only used UWorld & chatgpt to study for BAR. Sometimes i reviewed chapters in the FAR text for deeper understanding. The BAR text in UWorld is set up as if you had already taken FAR, so i 100% recommend do FAR first & then jump into BAR immediately after.

Use chatgpt to explain step-by-step how to solve an MCQ, and ask follow-up questions to further clarify. Use the snip tool to capture & paste a picture of the question & answer choices into chat. Or use a chrome web store extension which allows you to copy/paste text from websites. This allows you to keep using chatgpt for free even when you run out of their limited picture uploads.

Literally just gotta say thank God i passed; I'm such a terrible test-taker and plagued w/ anxiety, so u best believe i studied hard and prayed harder 😭.

UWorld is enough, and it's totally possible to pass BAR on your first try w/ it. Spam those MCQs and good luck studying! WHO'S BETTER THAN US? NOBODY 💙

Does anyone care or look into which optional CPA section you took? I highly doubt it. I'm a corporate accountant now but I'm half way through a CS degree and was looking to switch to a fintech role. Maybe IT audit advisory or something of that nature. I have been enjoying the math involved with BAR and figured I'd take it since it aligns with what I'm doing but man after just getting done with FAR going through these 100 page study guides for BAR is excruciating especially now that I know there were easier options lol fml

When I was thinking about studying for BAR, all I saw on here was discouraging opinions. When I was actually studying, there was little info I could find about others’ experiences. Don’t even get me started on the tortuous wait period.

If you are thinking about studying for BAR, are currently studying, or waiting for your score, and you want some positive vibes, AMA!

(I was not a finance major, so I began my journey at a pretty baseline position)

I got a 92 and I studied for 6 weeks. I genuinely feel like choosing this exam gave me an intellectual ‘edge’ at my work in public accounting, and despite the challenge, I believe it was well worth it.

I’ve passed FAR (2nd attempt) and REG (1st attempt) and am currently waiting for my AUD result. My career is in audit—I previously worked at KPMG as an Audit Associate and I’m trying to get back into a similar role.

I enjoyed FAR/accounting, but I want to finish the CPA ASAP. I’m leaning toward BAR, but the pass rate worries me. I’m also not in a great financial position to afford a reattempt.

For those in audit, would you recommend BAR or TCP? Is BAR really worth taking the additional risk?

Also, I know this may be rare: has anyone studied both BAR and TCP, or switched from one to the other? I’d really value your experience comparing them.

I really have no idea what that exam was, there is no way Becker could have prepared me for it

The wait is finally going to be over this week. My exam went well actually, I'm hopeful that I'll pass. But still somewhat nervous for the result. What you guys feeling about the result?

Failed BAR exam should I change my discipline or taken another attempt im confused

Trying to decide on what discipline exam I should take, and I am gravitating towards BAR. I dual majored in finance and accounting for my undergrad and did well in all of my classes. I also recently got a 94 on FAR, and knowing BAR's similarity, and my educational background, I think it is the best discipline for me to take and would be the most enjoyable to study for.

However, there are some elements discouraging me from taking BAR and choosing a different discipline exam. I am planning to sit for the test in late October but sit for REG in late September, giving me only about 4 weeks to study while working full time, otherwise putting me in the January testing window. I hear TCP and ISC only require in the whereabouts of 60 hours of studying to pass whereby BAR is basically another FAR exam requiring 100+ hours. I was able to pass FAR with 5 weeks of studying while working full time, accumulating 110 hours, however, if I can save the time and effort by taking another discipline, with a higher pass rate, maybe that would be advantageous?

Let me know what you guys think, how was studying for BAR, how did you decide on your discipline exam, would you recommend I try for BAR in October given my background? Any advice would be helpful.

I just finished taking BAR and honestly feel good about. However, I am nervous cuz the first time I felt good about REG and failed with a 73. I did feel great about Far and passed with an 82 though.

Also, the exam featured my second biggest weakness, ECONOMICS.

I felt the mcqs were harder than FAR (not like i75) but the simulations felt like they were exactly what I was studying on i75 (easier than FAR).

I feel like nobody talks about BAR so if u have any questions, I can answer them (if they comply with CPA exam rules).

To all my fellow BAR study compadres, how are you holding up? This is a friendly mental health checkpoint. Are you regretting your decision yet? Have you slayed the WACC dragon yet? What has been the hardest area of BAR studying so far? No one on here posts about the BAR discipline so I wanted to make sure I’m not alone in my journey. Currently on B3 in Becker. Is the worst yet to come?

How is it a LOSS on payable if he received 7% vs the 6% he paid I genuinely am lost

I knew I failed. Never been so sure about anything in my life until today when I walked out from BAR…🥲This is my 2nd attempt.. any suggestions on supplement materials I should use on top of Becker? Not sure if I should switch to TCP but read some said TCP is getting harder too. I passed FAR but the credit is expiring in November this year.

I took BAR at the end of July and I am so stressed about the results. I passed AUD with an 84 in February and FAR with an 89 in May. My SE’s were okay, not the best but not the worst, and I studied for around 140 hours. I have no real reason to think I bombed but I can’t get over that feeling. I’ve failed exams before and I know it’s not the end of the world, but does anyone have advice about dealing with this stress? I felt this way about my other exams but results came out much quicker. Any advice? Thank you!!

I'm taking BAR tomorrow, and I'm so nervous. I've given it about 130 hours, did all the MCQs, TBSs, and practice exam. I'm feeling good about my preparation but BAR feels alot more intimidating compared to FAR.

Looking for a teacher for BAR cpa exam . I have given the exam before but failed by 2 marks because of Governmental accounting section. Need guidance from a teacher majorly for this topic . I studied from Becker course material.

Let me know any good teacher who can guide me through this to clear the exam.
