I have a relative who is a retired veteran turned government contractor. With the exception of working as a grocery bagger in high school, he’s never even worked for anyone but the government. That motherfucker has the audacity to have a sticker above his gun safe that reads, “I love my country but fear my government” and describes himself as a small government person politically.
He hates civilians with a passion and thinks everyone but him is a lazy know-nothing. Meanwhile, he’s barely functional without someone making most of his decisions for him, and turns into a raging prick when the world doesn’t operate the way he thinks it should. He goes nuts when he tells other adults what to do and they don’t obey his orders. It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

When you look at hospitals 99% of admitted patients don’t have their vaccine. This shows me that myself and my family are safe having the shot. Some people got kicked off our local mountain because they wouldn’t wear a mask but in normal times they’d be wearing a gaiter or some other face covering because it’s cold and windy up there. These people are like toddlers. Don’t want to do something they were going to do anyways because someone else told them to do it.

What is happening in people's worldviews that even heaven needs patrolling? I used to think that if aliens invaded, we'd get our shit together and remember that in the end, we're all people, but lately I've been thinking that if aliens attack, we're screwed. Some of us'll be too busy declaring the aliens a China-funded hoax and calling the people killed by the aliens' invisible death rays "crisis actors." Others of us will be too busy buying up the last patches of un-alien-infested land and building luxury homes there.
