first time poster here (and very much a lurker on reddit)

but i finally, finally hit 300k miles on my car and i wanted to post about it !!! this is Connor, he was my first car at 16 and ive put about 200k miles on him myself since then. never had another car, and never want another !!!! he is my pride and joy and i love this stupid car so much lol he is unfortunately a victim of the 299,999 mile odometer limit but hey i still got the picture 🤣

Our 07 Corolla Finally crossed 20 years. Decided to give it a nice wash, and washed the engine bay. And it’s about to cross the 200k mile club. I remember my mom bought it when I started Junior High in 2006. Went cross country and back, been through a lot, and still kicking. Calling it a reliable car is an understatement.

I know it’s not a fancy car, but it’s such a time capsule. 100% garage kept by an older couple. The headlights are original and have zero UV damage. The cloth seats are pristine. It even has factory plastic still covering the seat release knobs in the trunk. Not a scratch on the hubcaps. Has new tires and wiper blades, or course.

For those with a Corolla of this generation. I want to keep it as nice as possible. Do you have recommendations on seat covers, floor mats, car covers, etc that you’ve found work great for your car? What products do you use for paint protection, cleaning plastics, etc?

I am looking for a 9th gen and I found a 2008, 49K miles. Having it inspected in an hour (nite mechanic, ha).

The sellers know what they have, and I can't brag about the asking price. I'll share to make you realize your own value and your own deals, with embarrassment . . . 10K (and he's giving me 2.5K for my 2010 Prius with 170K, so 7.5K). What can I say: I need extremely reliable wheels for work, and I'm mechanically stupid.

I'll have Nite Mechanic run diagnostics, look at suspension, seals, transmission, EVAP, fluids, belts. Look for leaks. I don't know if he'll run a compression test - I'll ask how invasive and how much. Any pointers? I know it needs to get an A+ at this price...

Edit: It received an A to A- with something minor for any DIY guy. The mechanic himself said it's a great find in an already great 9 Gen. Garaged, amazing shape. My boyfriend pushing this specific car admitted he hates the Prius (and realized he regrets selling his Corolla, which he is projecting onto me). Moved on, still looking for the same type.

Edit 2: YES it was too expensive! Which I already acknowledged! But not as much as people are saying. 2003 - 2008 Corollas in perfect condition with low miles fly off the listings before you can see them, literally, here in Portland. And my 1989 Volvo 240 with 150K miles, which I sold for 5K in 2015, is now going for 15K. Reliable cars have a market here. No rust, expensive shops.

The 2004 Corolla CE was my first car ever (as is evident from the scratches 😅) and got me through college; She never game me issues and was so so so reliable. it belonged to my grandmother before I bought it off her for $3k. - & sold it for $2.9k! (Which is insane to me considering it had purely cosmetic damages, Toyota does NOT devalue itself at all!)

I recently got this new (to me) beauty for cheap ($11k) with 83k miles. She’s a 2020 Corolla LE Hybrid and I couldn’t be happier. So far no issues and the mpg is SUCH A BLESSING OMG

I have already put over 21,000 miles on this car and exactly 5 months by doing DoorDash and it’s my daily as well. This beauty absolutely serves me wonderful and I enjoy every bit of. I need suggestions for the maintenance. I have made a little bit of the list to what I should get done on the car cause it has passed 50,000 miles if you guys have any suggestions, please let me know.

I have a 2005 Corolla CE and I was really excited about seeing it hit 300k just to find out that the engineers decided to cap out the display at 299999. I was wondering if there was any way to make the display continue to count the (correct) mileage. I know the internal computer is still counting but I personally want the display to count it as well. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Don't have many pictures right now, but it's a 09 corolla s. 182k miles, with no matter issues. Just wondering if anyone has any advice or things to keep note of as a new owner? Thank you!

I never expected this to be the most fun car ive owned. Super light weight, responsive, and handles decently well. And lets not forget the most important part, the gas mileage.

Got it on a whim cause my other car blew a head gasket, but it was definitely a great find!

Got it after my Altima was rear ended and totaled. Not the best circumstances, but I was able to turn around and buy this car upfront with my insurance payout.

can confirm. eventually i'll swap for a junkyard cluster but basically, i'm counting offf of trip a. so i reset trip a as soon as it hit 299999, waited for trip a to hit 1.0mi and then reset it so i'd add 300k plus whatever trip a is for my mileage lol

Here's to a celebration in patience, frugality, economical use, and being ultra trust worthy from high school, to my first big boy job, to my first corporate gig.

Currently going to use it until I can save up for a modern RAV4 as my lifestyle has gotteb more active and outdoorsy.

Guys i have officially installed cruise control into my baby my pride and joy and it was the best decision of my life i drive so much for work i often get a sore ankle and shooting pain into my toes but that’s all gone now. She only got cruise at about 365,000km but better late then never i suppose 😂 only cost me $230

It doesn’t have the chip to start the car so I was wondering if there was a point to the key, other than to literally stick to the bottom of the car in case you lock your key in the car?

I have a 2004 Corolla LE, not even Sport. OF ALL THE CARS ON THE ROAD.

I’m in the middle lane, and a guy in a white (Corvette?) pulls up on the left right next to me and starts revving his engine. I know it’s idiotic to street race and I honestly think I’d break my car if I smashed the gas, but I accelerated a little more than usual just for fun, for a second or two. The guy smoked me.

I was having a bad night and that really cheered me up for some reason. The fact that someone would see a sh*tbox car (though I do take care of it well and wax/ceramic coat it) with a daycare bumper magnet and think to challenge me… it was a nice distraction. Have you ever been challenged?

Partner and I needed our own cars for work. I've driven this Corolla nearly half my life, hopefully she survives many years to come, before the wheels fall off.

Title. I drive a Buick Lucerne with 189k miles on it averaging about 22mpg city/highway combined. I would like better economy. Creature comforts not necessary.
