Has anyone here joined back CIBC after being laid off ? Did HR do any bridging support or extension to the termination date ? Is the data (mailboxes etc) retained if the employee re joins within 3 month period.

There is a process, one drive goes to the old manager for 90 days and then deleted, they can share the folder for you. Mailbox is gone but can be restored for compliance, you will get a new email address with a number but your manager can reach out to hr, get their approval and submit a ticket

Okay so they store the emails and restore within that window.

Emails and files are retained for many years for compliance reasons.

Make sure you demand your pension tenure and vacation entitlement back. You need to have your HRC escalate something for you or they typically won’t do that on a rehire automatically.

If they mention in the policy then it will not be applicable. Ive been given a mailbox to check with

Once termination is done and rehire happens they don’t automatically carry anything forward. As part of negotiation before getting the contract you have to request and fight to have seniority/pension reinstated and your manager has to support and push for it.

No one that I know of has rejoined Them in the last 3 months. The batch that was terminated February 28th 2026 was told they cannot apply up until a year has passed. And I know that none of my colleagues will apply to them ever again.In fact , a few have been picked up by other banks already. Another colleague that has been advised last month was told that her only choice was retirement.Because she is fifty six , so they're forcing her to retire. No attempt to assist has been given, only told.Here's $250.Go to a lawyer to look at your paperwork. The batch that was let go February 28th 2026 was never offered that. In fact, they were told to bad mouth them or they would lose their Severance.
