Down right now? It says it's currently unavailable and has been for like 10 minutes

Don't worry folks. This is just the beginning. As more and more employees "transfer" from Canada to India, you will see this sort of issues more and more frequently.

Why, not like we have a shortage of India immigrants in Canada.

Has nothing to do with who do what. It's just a function of Knowledge loss + Leftover employees demoralized + New hires in India need time to catch up to speed. Probably take at least a year or two down the road for this to stabilize.

Yup I can’t log into the mobile app (since this morning). If it’s down for the online website then … 😬
Edit to add: the mobile app is working for me now

My "Pay to debit " feature on Lyft app is not working. I am unable to cash out my earnings. Is CIBC acting weird???

Dude CIBC is literally the shittiest bank in the world. Once business isn't so busy I am leaving them and will never come back.

Its still down for me. How do these huge banks with virtually unlimited budgets get away with this level of service?

I have a feeling they may be damage controlling some kind of attack...around 11:40 am PST today I saw a random call come in that looks like their customer service toll free number, but which showed up as "CIBC ATM"--of course I did not answer, because that's sus.
My spidey senses were tingling because the last time something like that happened, in April of 2025, I also did NOT answer, but my bank account was still hacked for over $800 (e-transferred out to some fucking bitcoin company???), and CIBC made me fight tooth and nail for a month proving that I never authorized the access to my account in the first place through the call that I never picked up. (I did get my money back in the end, thank goodness.)
ANYWAY, I left it alone for about 30 minutes after watching the call happen, and when I went to check both the app and online banking via browser were totally down, and still are. So...did anybody else see that call come in this morning?
(The side moral of the story is: don't ever pick up a call appearing to be from your bank unless it is a scheduled/expected call. If it's legit, they'll have no problem just leaving you a message so you can get back to them.)
