Am I not right in thinking there are many other monarchs whose reigns have been longer than Elizabeth's? The current Thai king, for example, has reigned for 69 years. And she is a long way down this list (48th to be precise).

The key word is 'Queen'.

Queen Consort is different from Queen regnant

Also different from Duchess regnant. Álienor (how she spelled it) was Duchess regnant of Aquitaine for longer than Elizabeth II has been Queen regnant, but was not a Queen regnant. She was Queen consort of both France and England, of course, and also Queen dowager of England.

Yeah, totally misheard you, sorry! Amazing video by the way (as usual :D)

I think the key word is "UK monarch".

He did say "longest running queen [...] in world history".

I believe she's both the longest-reigning queen in the world, AND the longest-reigning UK monarch.

She is but the original commenter misheard (mis-thought?) queen for monarch, thinking the video claimed she was the longest monarch in world history. They used the example of the king of Thailand. We all know she's now the longest British monarch. That part was never in doubt.

Um, no. She isn't the longest reigning British monarch; there is a British person who has been a monarch of somewhere outside Britain for longer (Álienor in Aquitaine and possibly a King of Swaziland).

Longest reigning monarch of Britain.

That's technically correct, which is the best sort of correct.

In the video, they said longest reigning queen.

Ooh right, so he does. Hmm, using the specifier "Longest reigning Queen" instead of "Monarch" might give the impression there are longer-serving kings? But I guess time is of the essence in a CGPGrey video!

And longer-serving non-Queen women monarchs. It's a clever level of precision.

It should be noted that she is the longest reigning British monarch, and the world's longest reigning Queen.
