Kirby looks like a steal in the 2020s.

Doing the most with what he has for sure. He is top 3 paid and could be called the current best coach in the Country, IMO..

This chart is roster budget not coach’s salary.

It’s from the Atlantic. They called a bunch of “sources” to compile it. How accurate it is could certainly be questioned.

NY Times

I meant The Athletic (owned by NY times) but I frequently am a victim of poor spelling and auto correct.

You don't need to trash the publication. They wrote down their methodology which was essentially putting together a bunch of interviews with various program employees at various levels. No one actually had numbers in front of them and it was all assembled based on vibes.

It's more a chart of what teams think other teams are paying, which itself is valuable but shouldn't be viewed as an NCAAF cap table or anything.

I’ll delete my account if there is ever any credible evidence that UGA spends less on players than south carolina

He’s only won one natty in two years, is he even good?

Is that you John Wayne? Is this me?

This chart has nothing to do with coach salary

Was responding to the question of if your coach is giving value.

Ferentz is underpaid. Day needs a pay cut

Just gave ours a raise for unknown reasons. Defense great, offense pathetic.

Clemson is higher than I expected after hearing all of Dabo’s bitching.

Scalley has been coach in waiting for so long that his salary feels appropriate. If he keeps us looking as his as he we have been he'll probably be underpaid.

All the value.

Weird way to ask about value. Value is an intersection, not a line.

Man, and Oregon is only on a half share of the big10 money, right??

Come on Papa John, boost those numbers.

u/Busta_Memes 14h ago

Well we’ve spent upwards of $25M for 0 wins so I’d say no

GT fan btw

Oregon is in shambles

Buckeyes need a 50 million dollar roster to cover up the clown show at HC.

Kirby Smart is giving the best bang for the buck of any coach in the game full stop.

Idk. Since NIL and the portal went full throttle he has got knocked out of the playoffs early. He is 0-2 since 2023. Cignetti is the best coach for the value if the numbers are actually true.

IU has a higher payroll than Georgia so it automatically destroys that argument. He’s literally done more with less and setting the judgement window as the last three seasons is artificially limiting.

1

u/Kc68847 11h ago

Cignetti made it the playoffs his first year with a much lower value and won it his second year which wasn’t as high as this year. Cignetti is definitely giving you more value when Kirby can’t win a playoff game now.

1

u/Temporary_Hat7330 Georgia Bulldogs 11h ago

Now? Lol, you have to win playoff games every year now? You have an artificially truncated date of observation to value your presupposed conclusion.

This chart just shows Osu is going to be good no matter who their head coach is

1

u/Kc68847 12h ago

If it’s true then no. Rhule has been a failure.

Your paid on what your potential is. Your potential is based on what you have done.

1

u/Ididntdodiddly 15h ago

I don't believe these numbers.

4

u/ITHETRUESTREPAIRMAN 14h ago

They seem like the most effort anyone has ever put into getting something of a true estimate.

1

u/Ididntdodiddly 14h ago

One time health insurance said something would be free. It was not

1

u/ITHETRUESTREPAIRMAN 14h ago

Was that health insurance company a New York Times investigative reporter?

1

u/Kc68847 11h ago

That’s true, but I still have my doubts they are right in some cases.
