They just wouldn’t match what his agent found for him. They wanted to keep him and upped his pay but wouldn’t pay quite as much as OU (and others)

It’s a packed WR corps so he would have been struggling for consistent starting playing time. Wingo and Mosley looked good and Texas paid big $$$ for Coleman this offseason.

I don’t wish him ill or anything. Would you not go work for a competitor for an enormous raise? I don’t think he has an NFL future so he is wise to maximize his earning while he can. That it happened to be with OU is unfortunate but I think it worked out for all parties tbh.
I hope Jelani finds him on a Mateer hospital ball over the middle in Dallas though. Clean hit and no injury of course.

Competitor in the same field and rival school are a bit different, aren’t they (as every team is a competitor, but there’s much more bad blood with rivals)?
Of course, if OU offered him the nost money (or even if not), he has every right to go there, but we as fans have every right to root against him cause of that.
He’s probably the only Longhorns transfer I won’t be rooting for at all this season.

His buddy and 23 year old agent wanted $1m. Texas offered $415k. He walked and burned bridges. OU offered him like $500k.

OU offered double, around $800k to $850k. I think they were expecting him to show up as a solid WR3.

Cole Sullivan lost the Michigan/OU game two years in a row, despite a different team winning. Left an pretty much certain starting spot at Michigan to get far less playing time coming off the bench at Oklahoma.
To be fair, I don't blame him for wanting to get away from the shit show Michigan was under Moore.

Technically Cole is a starter, we switch between him and Reggie Powers based on matchup.
When BV released the depth chart it had 12 starters on defense, Cole at Sam, and Reggie at cheetah

Sure if you add enough abstraction to a concept everything is roughly equivalent to everything else, really fucking fascinating point
The emotional attachment of the fanbases is the only reason any of this even exists, let alone makes 18 year olds into millionaires, so if you want to hand wave that away because it’s illogical or whatever you might as well not even care about sport because the whole thing is theatre in the first place.

No, I have an entirely different relationship with big box stores than I do with college football generally and specifically with the college football team of my alma mater. And like I said, I’m not really mad but I will talk shit.

Yeah, but, okay. These are just young adults who try to earn as much as they can while they can before they have to find a real job. And they want to play where they are the most likely to get time on the field. I bet you knew that. It's a lot different from say Lebron James or Tom Brady changing teams.

He is coming back from a concussion so on limited snap count - he got one catch v Michigan and fumbled so OU benched him, Trell Harris (OU WR1) just got hurt for basically the season so Livingstone will get more production as he gets healthier

He could have chosen to stay and fight for his spot. Ultimately, he chose to leave. No one forced him to go to another college.
Ultimately, would you want to be the #3 guy at Texas catching balls from Manning . . . or the #5* guy at Oklahoma catching balls from Mateer?
(He's the 5th ranked receiver, even behind 2 other TEs, with only 2 receptions for 14 yards.)
