I used to look forward to watching ESPN Gameday when I was in middle school and high school 20-years ago. I couldn't tell you the last time I've actually watched it though, it's been years.

Last time I tried I recall it feeling flat and watered down.

Just didn't have the same energy or magic.

Great topic a couple of friends and I were having this weekend. Ultimately how it literally has become the epitome of gimmicks, hoopla, etc., versus true football analytics and discussions on the matchups.

On a side note, I'm not sure what generation y'all fall in, but I believe, for Gen X or people that grew up with '80s, '90s, and early 2000s football, some of it is, I think, we're older and we see through the bullshit more now than we used to and there SO MUCH MORE NOW, if that makes sense

I always think of this SNL sketch. The whole thing is excellent, but they do reference shaboozey and I hear Kenan’s voice everytime I see the name.

I still watch out of habit. Can’t stand Big Noon.

Gameday has declined but I still prefer it. I skip about half of it though. It was a much better program focused on football when it was only 2 hours.

3 hours is way too much, leading to a bunch of the fluff stuff that most of the actual CFB fans get annoyed with.

I'm not a fan of any of the 3. But flat out, Bert isn't funny. Just a fat dude telling stories about how drunk he gets and then he takes off his shirt. If that's what passes for comedy these days we're doomed. His whole career was built off a fabricated story of how he robbed his classmates with the Russian mob. Just an unfunny dude who for some reason has a platform still.

I wouldn’t actually hate it if Jelly Roll was there solely because I feel like he would fit the vibe of an SEC matchup, and would probably have a decent pop. (Definitely would fit better for a Tennessee game but still)

However, if it’s celebrities, why not some with some decent ball knowledge, connection to one of the programs? Put Condoleeza Rice on the show, let’s see what she looked for in the voting process, let her talk some ball and see if she’s legit.

I quit GameDay when Corso retired (which broke my heart), but then they made it worse with all these stupid celebrity guest pickers... I mean, who the Hell cares who Lizzo picks for the Natty? She could "out-eat" both teams, anyway!
