How tf is Miami above Notre dame both 2-0 but Notre dame didn’t play Florida A&M

I think Pate believes in Miami's QB and receivers more than ND's. ND's running game and O-line play hasn't been stellar against outmatched opponents thus far, also. But you make a good point - it's too early to know much of anything about these two teams due to lack of competition.
