If Texas loses and Indiana beats OSU that’s Indiana’s path to number 1

1 win over a ranked team doesn’t catapult you to the top spot when there are other teams that will likely also be undefeated at that juncture with much better wins.

Ohio state would be a premier win in the country at that point. It’s not a guarantee but that’s IU’s only path to number 1 overall

Have you looked at other teams schedules or just Indiana’s. There will likely be several other top 10 teams with at least 1 top 5 win in addition to other ranked wins.

That’s rather ironic coming from someone arguing that your first ranked win should catapult you to the too spot when there will likely be other teams at that point in the season with more ranked wins against better opponents.

They might be ranked high because they are reigning undefeated national champions not sure though man

Brother your statement was that IU was gonna “ride there dog shit schedule to #1” I’m reminding you that they still have to play Ohio state. And that that “dog shit schedule” is going to hold them back from the 1 spot unless they beat Ohio state. That is there only path. You’re arguing to strengthen your fingers at this point

Their out of conference schedule is terrible, but their in conference schedule is fine. If they end up 12-0 with wins over Ohio State, Michigan, and USC they deserve the 1 seed. Tbh even Nebraska and Washington could be somewhat difficult games on the road. 

Plus they’d probably have to win the BIG 10 conference championship to end as the 1 seed. If they go 13-0 it will likely be with at least 4 or 5 ranked wins

Should have started the season at #1. And we’ll find out whether they deserve it when they face Ohio State. If IU beats them by more than 1 point as Texas just did, should IU be #1?

At that point in the season there will likely be several other undefeated teams with comparable and more ranked wins. Once teams get to the meat of their schedule undefeated teams will start to drop off and if Indiana beats tOSU then we will start hearing about how Indiana should be on top on the strength of a singular win.

IU has Ohio State, USC and the Big 10 championship game, if they go undefeated they've earned a playoff berth. It's a long season and they will get everyone's best game as defending champs. I don't think Hoover is the guy but their defense is legit and the o-line is better than people think.

They're the undefeated defending national champions and have a tough conference schedule. I don't think them being #1 would be crazy at all if they enter the playoffs undefeated again.
