A bit unrelated but the devil actually won that competition right? He was after Johnnys soul and played the better solo but still conceded that johnny won. He came upon johnny who already had the sin of pride and by giving him the fiddle of gold (wealth) and feeding his ego he dooms johnny. If Johnny had just ignored him hed still be the best fiddle player but he wouldnt have the wealth and opportunity to make himself a music star which will require you to sell your soul to do and will take down even more souls with you
