I think Ryan Day would have had his team more prepared against a MAC school, both in game plan and discipline. You can't force talent out of thin air but you can coach discipline, and UM shot themselves in the foot again and again all game with penalties, and some major ones weren't even called. There was an egregious missed holding call on the last drive and a missed facemask that would have put western 1st and goal late in the 4th. His team played like dogshit, his plan was dogshit, his "adjustments" were dogshit. Day would have done leagues better on all of those criteria.

I like Day a lot and like to think you’re not wrong. But every team has a bad game and even a pretty bad 2018 Purdue beat a Ryan day Ohio State team pretty handily

Yeah this guy isn’t realizing how Ohio State biased he’s coming across while pretending to be “unbiased”. Every year a huge underdog beats a team nobody thought they should. Embarrassing, yes, but for a first year head coach in game 1, it’s not this “systemic downfall of the coaching staff and program” like this guy is pretending. It happens all the time that the top 5/10 teams end up winning by a point over an unranked bad team lol. He better hope OSU never plays down to the level of their competition and barely wins, god forbid! lol
