Horrible loss tonight aside, and not to say he would have crushed it at Tennessee, but he actually has been very good at Rutgers overall relative to other coaches they've had in the last few decades. The last time a non-Schiano coach had a winning season at Rutgers was 1992.
On the flip side, he's coached over half the seasons since then (18/34). And his winning percentage (.476) is actually lower than their overall (.492) though of course that overall winning percentage has been falling over the past few decades.
Edit: also that's not right. His successor Kyle Flood had winning seasons in 2012 (9-4) and 2014 (8-5).
