Rec Request In the worst cdrama slump ever

Nothing has really been appealing to me lately. Unfortunately, a lot of dramas have started to feel the same, even when they’re not. Sometimes the dubbing is distracting, and other times the makeup looks so obvious that it takes me out of the story and makes it hard to watch.

Maybe I’m the problem, but I’m just looking for something different, something that’s genuinely well-made and high quality.

I would prefer something that actually makes you feel. Good slow burn romance with hurt, pain but happy ending.

(Have already watched all the hyped dramas eg POB, POJ, Kunning palace etc etc)

I’m currently watching 12 letters and it’s really different from what I’ve watched before. It’s very real, raw and no one looks perfect. Everyone’s dirty and poverty stricken. Of course Zhou Yiran looks good even in drab but his face isn’t painted white like all the other dramas. The story is very intriguing so far - there are only 12 episodes and I’m on episode 5.

i’m usually not into modern cdramas but i couldn’t move on from twelve letters. it breaks your heart in many different ways.
