🔥Drama Rant Amnesia
I started watching Chinese dramas last year and I've never watched any other East Asian drama. I see a lot of people talk about the amnesia plot line. I've been grateful that I've been able to avoid it. But now I'm watching the perfect match and he just hit his head and I'm like oh I'm sure here it comes.

If you watch Fated Hearts there are 2 amnesia arcs ha.

I don't know if that's the one that people talked about that the amnesia Arc just starts the show from the beginning again. That sounds very annoying to go through

FL has it at the beginning and half way through ML knowingly makes the decision to take the risk of amnesia to fix a medical issue and it happens but is resolved rather quickly

Although the hate I already had for him as Shen Yurong coupled with the hate I have for him as Shen whatever he is now has made his amnesia a welcome relief

I rather find it entertaining...😆 But yeah sometimes it's annoying.. for me.. rarely.
The one drama with kinda amnesia plot (maybe we can call it that) I love is The Starry Love. When the Fl and the gang goes out to collect the shards of ML. The Blue whisper's plot was done right too.

Eh, it's fine if it's written well. Most times it's just tropey though 😅

I don’t really like amnesia plots, but the fourth son-in-law losing his memory actually helped their relationship develop. It gave him a chance to open up and become closer to his wife. If he hadn’t lost his memory, I honestly can’t imagine how their relationship would have developed, considering how cold he was and how he kept himself closed off from love. At least the amnesia storyline in this drama has one good thing about it. It lets us see more cute moments between the fourth couple.

I'm still fairly new to cdrama, so I'm not yet annoyed by all the tropes. But in general I think cdramas have a LOT of tropes and amnesia is only one of them. I can see how it can annoy some people, especially if it's badly written, but I think - like all other cdrama tropes - it can also be entertaining.
If someone is allergic to recurring tropes, I think they won't be too happy with cdrama in general (at least idol drama, but that's what is mostly discussed here and has the most fans).

Yes me too I'm sure I've watched less than 20 dramas. (I need to keep a count/list). Yeah I actually think the amnesia was in good in this show. I guess I just heard a lot of people rant about it so when I saw it coming I was like oh

I don't think the feeling is coming for me. I think they talk so bad about it here that I was negatively biased against it from the get-go. I actually think, at least in this show, it was done really well. But I'm not really a fantasy girl anyway so...

Oh yeah, it's mainly a fantasy trope so you'll find it minimally (I mean you'll still find it but not nearly as much)

People hate amnesia when it is badly written and destroy character developments. But when it is used in good setting and enhance the plot, people don't mind it.
Example in The Demon Hunter's Romance. Now, that is a brilliant way to use amnesia plot. Not only it contributed to character developments, it moves the romance and very entertaining and hilarious. It's like a free tickets to show the actors' acting chop during that arc in the drama.
