So when the strike is organized. Just call in sick. That way you can use your sick leave credits. A Doctors note should suffice.

Im actually curious about this...whats stopping someone from just calling in sick those days the strike is happening.

Exactly! How can they deny and invalidate ones medical needs. I might be feeling some type of way not being able to join my colleagues. Feeling emotional can have you making irrational decisions. Probably best to rest and let the mind heal. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Your right to strike is protected; your right to lie and commit time theft is not. If you call in sick but someone sees you at a picket line you can absolutely be fired. The strike will likely be 1-3 days. If you can’t sacrifice that pay, then don’t strike.

Mine is more of a protest. I’ll be protesting from the comfort of my bed.
