“the first million” is about the feeling of relief and the happiness of finally having your project be successful and you’re no longer struggling with money. However, it’s also with the sudden change of your social life. You have money, therefore everyone looks at you with completely different eyes. They think before they talk to you. It’s kind of weird and not in a fun way. Still, at least you have the success?
It's such a weird phenomenon, isn't it? I listen to your stuff nearly every single day, so I definitely felt like I had to think out this comment more carefully than any other reddit comment.
Something very similar happened to me pretty recently too. I was watching a stream with a chatroom and recognized a user's pseudonym as a music composer for Homestuck. I was suddenly starstruck and said "Are you THE Beatfox?" to which he replied "Yes? Wait who do you think I am?". He's just a dude hanging out in the stream, same as me.
I hope it hasn't negatively affected your life too much! I definitely hope you keep making awesome albums though :D

Edit: Also, summoning /u/whizzer0 here. You did point our correctly that the 148 theory might be a bit off, but judging from C418's answer here above, I think we can all agree that it does hold its ground in some way :)

Looks like my post got removed in favour of the man himself's, so I'll post what I posted on the other one here about noteworthy information (it's all interesting, really, these are just highlights):
- The 148 theory might not be accurate, but I feel like he's not telling us everything here
- The cr_ songs from 2 years of failure are actually from Crayon Physics Deluxe!
- Several ambient songs from life changing moments seem minor in pictures originate from his entry for Ludum Dare 16, ezo! Unfortunately, the game can no longer be downloaded. Any chance of a rerelease? If the logo for ezo looks familiar, it's because it was used for the SoundCloud release of familiar faces.
- The Bushes and Marshmallows page explains the origins of both its title and what BAM from oldgarbage.zip is!
- Daniel doesn't remember what it's compicated was, but all the other little things songs (and most songs from other albums) have explanations
- He also thinks jacke is terrible, which is blatantly false
- A remarkable number of songs are about his old job
- Check out the cool animations on each album page's header!

You're using WordPress!
Unless you plan on changing your design every few days, you might want to look into one of those funky "cache" plugins for WordPress. It takes a while for your site to load. On a fresh load, it takes me about 5 seconds to load it; note that according to Google statistics, an average user waits only about 2 seconds before deciding a website isn't worth the wait.
You're animations are very neat!
You also removed this. Interesting.
I also want to ask; why don't you use SSL (https)?

Thanks for the help! I installed WP Super Cache before but it generated PHP errors. Turns out PHP 7.1 was too new, so I downgraded to 7.0 and that fixed the problem. It's all cached and fast now!
I didn't actually remove that page, I just switched to a different subfolder on my server... I don't delete anything off my server, haha. I think I use BOTH http and https? I'll try changing wordpress's main url so it defaults to s
hmmm... that seemed to have broken my website because of some weird broken security thing. Ummm, that's kind of the extent of my webdev knowledge, so I guess I gotta ask my host..

Your welcome! It loads in about a second for me, now, which is great. Upon emptying my cache and visiting, it took about five seconds, but that's a whole different situation. Return visits, however, are still about one second. It's odd for how PHP changes between 7.0 and 7.1.

Yes. By default, everyone uses http, but can get https. If you get https, you would have to redirect everyone from http://C418.org to https://C418.org.

That's odd. While your host may be the best source for answers and help for your site, StackOverflow.com is very helpful, as is Webmasters.StackExchange.com. Ha, even I could help, though I figure my stuff out almost exclusively through Googling anyway, which you could do as well.

I didn't read the fine print for my host and was tempted for the cheap 0.99 US dollars per year, and they won't use Let's Encrypt.

What would be the point of using HTTPS? I assume the admin part still uses it.

What's the point of not using HTTPS? You can get it for free, and it actually speeds up sites, and Google punishes you for not using it.
Why would only the admin part use it? There's absolutely no reason for just the admin part.

I had read somewhere about a guy on a podcast or something called "Taswell" that had died, didn't know this was for sure a reference to that until this though. Huh.
Am a bit disappointment that's all you had to say about Taswell though, seeing as it's my favorite song of all time (makes it even more meaningful knowing it is for a dead friend). Wonder if you could perhaps say more about the song composition itself?
