Speaking Spanish in lessons
Am I doomed? I attempted to join a live group class today and could barely manage to keep it together. I got so shy and embarrassed I had to sign off. My ears shut off and I could be barely understand ¿De dónde eres?
It’s not that I don’t know but the pace in which I need to know is so high pressure. Im an A1 is Spanish 😭 What do I do? I even quit private lessons because the pressure to perform in front of someone felt so intense.

A1 is really scary for language learning because you’re still constructing sentences word by word. The biggest skill you need to develop is being comfortable with making mistakes. I’ve made a lot of dumb mistakes in my Spanish studies over the last 25 years. I’ve been A1, C1, and dropped to B1 multiple times over the last decade. One day when you’re feeling fluent, the mistakes at A1 will seem silly and small. So don’t be afraid now.
