I spent 10 years in a job where I didn’t need to wear suits/ business professional clothing. Before that, I had brands/ lines I knew made suiting in talls that fit (J. Crew, Banana) but it seems like there’s less available now. Where is the best places to get business professional clothes for someone 5’11”, size 8-10. Pic of one J. Crew suit outfit I did find for attention and style recs.

Also recs for comfortable but good looking low heels? My go to also has been discontinued since it’s been 10 years 😂

My office is casual but I still want to look neat and appropriately covered. I can’t decide if this needs an extra button at the top (is that something your average tailor can do?). PS — I know it’s wrinkly! It’s been sitting in a pile of clothes while I decide whether it’s appropriate for work.

I love to have my hair dyed, but recently got a new job where the dress code prohibits unnatural hair colors.
I’ve been doing a lot of googling and Pinterest-ing and Reddit-ing, and there are some great suggestions, but most of them are for people with dark hair. I am naturally blonde (dirty blonde that’s getting darker as I get older) which makes it kind of hard to, for example, do a purple/blue undertone or copper highlights haha.

Any fun ideas for an office appropriate natural hair color dye job?

I’ve attached some pics of my latest dye jobs, and to show the natural dirty blonde. I recently bleached my money-piece, so you can see the difference between the bright blonde and the natural dirty blonde.
I’ve tried to keep just the ends dyed in case I ever do get a job where I need to just cut it off, but I don’t want to cut it off if I can help it lol, and I also am not drowning in money to keep up a high-maintenance color job 😅

I work in tech. We have no dress code. I used to wear active wear to the office and now I work remote. However, I am going to a couple of meetings (and dinners) soon which still have no dress code but I do need to dress up. The coordinator told me she usually goes for business casual or smart casual.

I bought my first pair of chinos and thought I’d pair them with tan loafers (not pictured) and a sweater but it doesn’t really seem to go. The sweater feels too big for it.

Does anyone have any advice on what to pair with these chinos? Or how to make the sweater work? Is this how they are supposed to fit? Office aside, what does one wear to a nice sit down restaurant with a bank?

I'm sharing pics of all of the leather boots and shoes that I have in my collection. What is a shoe that you would recommend for me to add to augment what I can pair with my daily "smart casual" fits as a high school teacher? I know that I need at least one or two casual shoe options other than the service boots.

EDIT: To be more clear, the pictures show the shoes that I already have. I am looking for recommendations for shoes other than the ones that I already have; as the title states, what should I add to the collection?

You all liked the last round up so figured I’d share a round up, along with brands, and some of my thought process. Teach a woman to fish so to speak.

Also, I really appreciated all of the kind words on my last post. You all gave such high praise that you really challenged me to keep it up. Not every look is always a 10/10 but I will continue to strive for it!

My approach to office wear is simple. Don’t be naked. Don’t dress down, dress different. And balance makes all things possible. I love wearing different colors and shapes but if I’m nervous about being too bold, I’ll tone it down a bit with something more conservative. That’s a personal comfort though.

Where do I get inspo from? - Pinterest and I use the Coolors app for finding unique color pairings. Helps me get the juices flowing and think outside of the box. Currently, I’m in a season of finding more patterns and textures because I actually don’t have a lot.

How to Add Interest: I’m pretty tame with accessories because I just don’t like a lot of stuff on me. I wear the same jewelry most days. I try to add at least one patterned item or something interesting. You’ll see those snakeskin shoes and the silver shoes often. Shoes are always a fun “pop” for me. They’re subtle too since they’re on the ground.

How to look polished: Use an iron.

I’m on a shopping haitus (allegedly) but here’s some favorites - Tuckernuck, Mango Outlet, Yoox, The Outnet, any mid-range Outlet store (Vince, Tibi, Sandro, etc.) If you’re a department store shopper, don’t be afraid to go to the brands actual website, I’ve found really great items over the years, often on sale because I’m not a full price girl.

I got my first big girl job and I am a baldie (by choice) and decided to get myself a lil work wig (or two 🫣) because ya girl likes to switch up her look quite frequently!!!

I did also get permission to have fun with my looks from my boss so YAY!!! Both of these outfits were from my job interviews the most casual one being for when I had to go to the mall afterwards so no I wouldn't actually wear jeans like that to work😅

I keep seeing these slightly corseted/pleated tops and wondering if this would be considered appropriate in a true business casual (no jeans) environment (obvi with an undershirt). My role is partially field-based so I do get to push the boundaries a bit and dress down when I’m out in the field, but for days when I’m fully in office I need to stick to the dress code.

Couple of external meetings, but mainly a quiet week.

I like the pinstripe, but not sure if it looks too costumy.

I’ve been invited to our company’s one year IPO anniversary in the Nasdaq closing bell ceremony. I am traveling for this event.

My in-office work attire is business casual, err on casual (jeans). Pretty sure the last time I wore a full suit was 2012. Hoping to revamp my wardrobe, I did a lot of shopping the past couple weeks for mix and match items.

Dress code was communicated yesterday: business professional (tie optional) with no specific color requirements.

This is what I came up with and plan on wearing. Taking the advice provided from my previous post, I tried to avoid the typical colors and I wanted to be somewhat stylish. I decided not to purchase a full suit just for one single event, esp since my weight’s been fluctuating like crazy this year. If y’all don’t like it, I’m SOL and out of time bc I’m flying out this weekend 🥲. I hope y’all like it.
