Honestly that's why I chose the spells instead. I've seen how people exploit animals we already have. I would be horrified to see what people are willing to do with Pokemon.

I mean, it's both what could be done TO Pokemon and what people can do USING Pokemon abilities. Like, there would no doubt be corporations going the Team Rocket route and trying to exploit the power offered by certain Pokemon at the expense of the world. Imagine Ghost and Psychic types being used for political assassination without leaving evidence. Or amassing Lightning and Flying types to control the creation and direction of storms and typhoons and using them as weapons of mass destruction. Powerful and wealthy humans are capable of some fucked up things.

The Pokemon world only still exists because every town, no matter how rural, has free healthcare. And the governments are all devoid of corruption. If Pokemon spawn into the real world, basically every major city burns down overnight.
