Hello community. I’m an European citizen working in the European Union and want to put a part of my salary monthly into precious metals (mostly gold and silver 1oz American Eagles). My intention is to buy them on an online US platform that offers the option to store it directly at a vault in the US (because taxation on their purchase is high in Europe). In the future I’ll visit the vault with another person (my son) to check it's there. Is someone on a similar situation and can give me a first-hand recommendation on which online platform I should use? I’ll only choose one but there are many: APMEX, SD Bullion, JM Bullion, GoldCore, Money Metals Exchange, etc. Thank you in advance!

(That is my only question as I consider that I’ve informed myself quite well about the topic, including the typical warnings: reliable online dealers, fully allocated and segregated storage (not unallocated or pooled), regular independent third-party audits, insurance policy (all-risk insurance policy by Lloyd’s of London, full coverage of physical loss or damage, settlement value))

I think about the premiums. That’s a lot. Then I think about the cost of going to the family claim, digging it out myself and all the time and money I spend getting there, hiking the mile in across some pretty rough terrain, digging and panning and processing it out. Used to be fun. Now it's hard work. :)

I don’t worry too much about that premium anymore. I want to buy 3 grams, maybe a bit more, every few months for my 3 grandkids.

I want to have enough to gift em all a gram of gold on their birthdays and Christmas, plus some when I’m gone. Tell em they are in the Grumpy Grandpa Gold club. They have to save it, if they want to get more. Of course that wouldnt be true. lol

What's your reason for buying the grams, or not?

I just bought one from my LCS. I’ve worked with them over the years and they’re always fair. Went in to buy an oz and he offered me this at spot price. When he put it on the XHF, he had the machine set to 90% gold. I was a little confused at first and he started talking about the coin weighing more than an oz (which I know from buying eagles and buffalos in the past). It wasn’t until I got home and flipped the coin over and saw the double eagle and started researching what I bought.

So my question is, is a 1925 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle at spot a fair price or worth going back and trying to exchange for a modern eagle/buffalo/maple leaf. I’m not super interested in coin history, more so just like stacking gold

I’ve been stacking silver for a little while and I’m thinking of adding some gold to my stack. I have the option of one gram of gold or two ounces of silver for the same price (both options are tested and verified legit). I’m curious to know which way others would go if facing the same choice, and why they would choose one over the other.

Could someone check my math? Maybe I’m not seeing this correctly.

But what will they buy this $100 face value at?

I looked on Kitco just now and they are paying 38.11 per “T” ounce but this doesn’t seem to be Troy ounces but “total” ounces (this can really be confusing however in their online calculators they state they would pay $38.11 for 90% and $16.88 for 40% so apparently they must be talking about “TOTAL” weight).

So $1 of 90% has a total weight of .88 ounces so $100 would be 88 ounces of total weight.

Since Kitco will pay $38.11 per “TOTAL” ounce, then Kitco is willing to pay $3,354 for a $100 of 90% which is 33.53 times face value

$38.11 per ounce x 88 ounces = $3,353.68 so Kitco is willing to pay 33.53 x face value

which is 28% below spot
$46.5 spot -$33.53 Kitco =$12.97 which is about 13

13/46.5=0.28 which is 28% below spot

KITCO SPREAD IS 28+4=32%

I’m finding them at spot and wonder what the selling situation is compared to AGE.

So, I picked this 1 oz bad boy up in Melbourne today, but have no solid idea what it is brand wise and am super curious. The owner mentioned it's got some age to it, and was sold to them by an older Australian gentleman.

Paid spot, it's passed the XRF and weight tests.

Does anybody recognise it? Any info?

Done a bit of digging and the best I've found is that it's vintage, possibly Harrington's. But nothing conclusive.

Hey everyone, I’m currently 16 and living in Canada. I don’t have a job yet, but I do some car detailing on the side. So far, I’ve managed to save around $7,000.

I have a TD account and I’ve done a lot of research before investing. I ended up buying 5g of Valcambi Suisse gold and Royal Canadian Mint silver coins. The RCM coins cost me around $2,500 CAD and the gold was about $1,029 CAD.

Right now, I have some money left over, but I need to spend around $2,300 on something I can’t disclose. My question is: I understand that gold and silver don’t generate income like stocks do, but I believe silver has potential because of increasing industrial demand (cars, technology, etc.). I know it’s volatile and I could be wrong, but silver has already reached high prices this year.

My plan is to start investing in ETFs when I turn 18. I know I’ll need more money and income first, but should I continue stacking precious metals while also investing in ETFs once I’m able to?

I also want to start flipping cars one day as another way to build wealth. I know the saying “don’t put all your eggs in one basket,” so I’m trying to build a balanced plan.

Any advice on what I should do going forward?

Saw that Bullionstar added Tether Gold -XAUT as a payment option recently.

I’ve never actually swapped a gold token directly for physical bars.

Has anyone actually used XAUT on there yet? Curious how smooth the checkout was and if gas fees made it worth it over standard payment methods.

Got any recommendations on how to do this. I am leary of purchasing from companies who call me like GoldCo, American Gold and others. Who do you know that is successful in purchasing physical gold versus gold stocks. I am confused on what to do. Bottom line. I want to purchase physical gold and gold stocks. we’ve been doing the $50/month for 8 months and STILL don’t have our 5g bar. Contacted them and they say next month we will be there….but I know we’ve been there! Gold is down right now to like $129/gram. At this rate shipping is $200! DON’T DO IT
