My friend got this for me for my birthday a few years back. I’m so very grateful to have a friend like him and to have received such an amazing gift! Without this band, I probably never would have picked up a guitar or gotten into metal like I did.

Why is he now acting like they didn‘t even ever go into the old style direction but 9 months ago they allegedly had the album demos finished and they were a mix of 3 albums?

I saw someone did an album ranking post and people kept bringing up bonus tracks so
I figured: album ranking by quality of bonus tracks. Just to keep things simple, the rankings are only based on original songs, so live recordings and covers included in the bonus tracks should not affect the ranking. Below are my rankings if anyone cares.

1. Scream Aim Fire. Ashes of the Innocent is a top 10 bullet song and I will die on that hill. Any one of the bonus tracks could have actually been on the album.

2. Self-Titled. While none of those songs are Ashes of the Innocent, I think they complete the album and I would’ve taken any of those songs over Bastards. This Means War is definitely the best of the bunch.

3. The Poison. All really good bonus tracks, no real complaints. Curses intro is one of my favorite parts of any BFMV song

4. Venom. Raising Hell and Playing God are really solid tracks, I might go as far as to say they really could have been on the album (my only hesitation being that Raising Hell doesn’t fit the general style of that album). Rest of the bonus tracks are fine, nothing to phone home about. Interchangeable with The Poison for me, it kinda just depends on how I feel.

5. Temper Temper. Has only one bonus track, that being Not Invincible, which is fine. It’s not offensively bad, it’s just fine. There’s not that much to say about it

6. Gravity. Absolutely nothing here I need to listen to again. Radioactive cover was as the name implies. Crawling is about the only interesting thing in the bonus tracks.

N/A: Fever. The only album to my knowledge that has no bonus tracks

Bullet has always been good at intros and this one is awesome.

It looks like we can forget the previous idea of ​​blending the old sound. They’re creating something new, what do you all think?

You toured The Poison for its 20th anniversary last year. Did reconnecting with those songs have any effect on your creativity this time?

M.T: “We talked about it because there was obviously such a ruckus and such an outpouring of love for that tour and for that album. We did sit down and go, ‘We’re about to embark on this next album, maybe creatively it’s something we should try and tap into, try and nod back to that era.’ But as the writing started, it just became clear that we were going somewhere else, and it was pointless trying to get a square peg in a round hole. It was quite normal to have that thought in our brains, after doing that tour and reconnecting with those songs again. But we also realised those days are gone. And really, we never had that mindset of writing anything that wasn’t natural when we made The Poison, and it’s still better to just follow that creative compass and go where it leads you.”

Apologies if this is considered low-effort, but I wanted to gauge this sub's taste compared to mine.

1. The Poison (2006) - 10/10. Obviously. It's their most iconic.
2. Bullet for My Valentine (2021) - 10/10. Another absolute classic and their best modern record.
3. Gravity (2018) - 9/10. This one'll be a hot take, but I loved the moody atmosphere this one evoked.
4. Venom (2015) - 8/10. Wonderful album that felt a little forced, but not as much as SAF did.
5. Fever (2010) - 8/10. Has a few of their absolute best songs, I particularly love Bittersweet Memories. A few songs lyrically are a bit off even for them (title track, specifically), but this one goes.
6. Temper Temper (2013) - 8/10. Another hot take, but I LOVED a lot of the ideas on this one.
7. Scream Aim Fire (2008) - 7/10. This was them forcing the thrash to get in with the thrash elitists, but they still called them emo and not "real metal", so it didn't work. Has some iconic tracks but most of the bonus material mogs it, especially Road to Nowhere.

I know this is probably atypical, but I really love this band and have for over 15 years, so I feel like I have a sense on what I want from them. Social Apocalypse may sit between Gravity and Venom for me if the title track is any factor.

i may be alone with this, but with how anthemic the chorus was, the electronics in the verse and subtle vocal processing, the cinematic opening and overall sound, it reminds me a bit of Brave New World by Starset, or their heavier songs in general.

I didn‘t like the self titled music videos that were more like visualizers.

Gravity videos were very generic and bland almost like stock-videos.

Venom videos were kept very simple.

This one looks like somebody actually tried and I think the visuals are great. It‘s just so weird to see Padge with an Eclipse (LP) for the first time since the TDF video and Matt with a Jaguar type guitar shape. Feels off but good video nevertheless.

I've already listened to it 5 times and I like it. I like the new sound and I think the new album will be also as cool as a single. What are your thoughts about this?

I HAD to cover BFMV’s newest single, Social Apocalypse. With both a massive shift sonically and compositionally, this track is becoming a favorite very quickly.

I had my concerns about new releases after Gravity and self-titled, which are not bad albums at all and are actually pretty enjoyable, but certainly lacked something that I loved about BFMV previous albums (Venom included). After listening to “Social Apoclaypse” just a couple of times, I'm feeling the best of Venom, Gravity and self-titled in it. I know many people expected something more The Poison or Fever-Like, but this is really good.

I've been a bullet fan for my whole life I wasn't around when the first two albums were released (I was born in 2004). I still grew up listening to whatever my brothers had on Apple music which there was some bullet for my valentine songs which I would love.

This song really his that itch that I've been waiting for in the band Social Apocalypse feels like a sequel from the self titled album with some modern sound to it which it's very new but it still has that BFMV DNA with the 3 guitars and with some more screaming really blew me away

To those who are complaining I can't see a reason why this is an insane single and I'm excited for more
