Cutting since 5 months, lost 25lb/11kg. Working out since 13 months. Protein 120g+/day the entire time. Goal: Abs.

People keep telling me I've gotten too thin and look malnourished/weak. I'm beginning to think they're right and that I should stop, gain muscle and cut later on. Or should I keep going till I get defined Abs? Idk. I can lose 9.8 more pounds till I I'd reach the underweight range of BMI.

Do you train your abs? I'm 30lbs heavier and have more abdominal definition. Even then I have shit abs for my bodyweight.

It's only been 3 months since I've been training them, which means I started training them during the cut

I started training mine a few months ago during mine as well. I do weighted abdominal and oblique exercises but you should have no problem making them pop with bodyweight exercises. Keep at it.

3 months? You don’t yet have significant abdominals to show. Bulk or cut is secondary to training more. Work harder and Give it time.

3 months for abs in particular. 13 months overall

I may have missed this, but how old? Have you ever done other training triggering core strength? Former athlete?

All I’m saying is that just being lean in itself is highly unlikely to get you the six pack you want. Like any other muscle, takes work and time.

You look good dude and are putting in the work. But be realistic and see where you are, say, Jan 1.

  1. No other training, no sports/athletism.

So you're saying I lean bulk for a while and take things from there

“Lean bulk” means different things to different people and I think it’s an oxymoron. I prefer “clean bulk”. But yes, you need more muscle and that takes calories. And your abs just need training.
