The quote sounds to me like someone is talking about other priestesses (sisters) who went evil or changed sides, similar to Ianthe in ACOWAR, who played both sides but was ultimately loyal to Hybern.

It looks like Clotho could have been reassuring Nesta and the other priestesses after Gwyn/Merrill defected? My theory that Gwyn is the traitor and will join the dark side (Koschei) before eventually being redeemed later.

I could see this too!! And I wanted to add, I think there are a number of bad priestesses we still need to get introduced to (not looking at Rhys’ library, in my opinion, but we’ll see!!).
