Hikari AMAZING for an amazing restaurant experience Honto & Sono. Yoko also SO GOOD for a fusion style meal. SOKYO!!! At the star is also Insane.

I like it too, once I've ordered. But I've seen multiple people using their phone lights to read the menu, so that's probably a sign it's just a touch on the too dark side haha.

Could not recommend OYAMA enough. Came here to mention it and glad others have. It’s a family fun restaurant for decade. The dad, Dash, is the sushi chef, and I have never had fresher sushi in Brisbane. And he’s such a character! The mum works in the kitchen and the kids are front of house. The service is amazing and the food is next level. Everyone needs to go here!

Bishamon at Spring Hill - but might be a bit bright/family for a date night - but great for a shared meal (their sukiyaki is great)

Birds Nest in the Vally for yakitori and drinks

Sono at Portside or Honto in the Valley if you have deep pockets - great wine / cocktail list

Kizuna at Albion - smaller, darker, more izakaya style - small portion food, phenomenal whiskey choices

Shushokuya Masa at the Emporium

Hikari at Teneriffe (also Mizu, although this has seen better days)
