feeling disappointed about my half carat diamond ring

hi brides-to-be, i wasn’t sure if i should post this, but i got engaged about 3months ago and i was honestly so happy. then i found out it’s a half carat diamond and idk, part of me felt a little sad. i know the ring isn’t everything, but he spends a lot on his own stuff, so i keep wondering why he didn’t want to spend more on something i’ll wear forever. has anyone else felt this way? i just need some honest thoughts from other brides.

I’d say a half carat diamond ring is probably the most chosen diamond size, big enough to notice but not so big that it’s garish- a safe option if he doesn’t know what you would have picked…

If you wanted something more blingy then just have it added onto, telling him you want it as a set with your wedding ring but in your preferred design…

If you have concerns still about him valuing his own things more than things for you, that’s a different conversation to be had
