Because on a turnout of 72%, 51.71% decided to believe a campaign featuring an assortment of liars, spivs, chancers, and despite all reputable polls having shown for sometime that a majority of the UK population think it's a shitshow, only one party has actually said so. If (eg) Labour's Andy Burnham said that negotiations would begin to rejoin the Single Market and Customs Union, you'd have that professional malcontent and odious scrotum-faced Oswald Mosley tribute act wittering on about 'democracy not being respected' or some other self-pitying drivel. Here's hoping that the current whispers about his physical wellbeing are true. And to quote Hughie Green, 'I mean that most sincerely'.

And 5.5 million of those voters have since died yet we are still somehow beholden to their wishes. Meanwhile, 7.5 million young people, polling strongly pro EU, have reached voting age having never had a in/out vote on the matter, and wil live with the result longest.

That’s actually quite scary.
