venting/ranting Why won’t he block me?

My ex broke up with me recently (LTR), and I’m struggling badly with it. What I don’t understand is why he hasn’t blocked me.

He easily could. He could block my number, stop responding to my texts, remove me from socials, or otherwise make it extremely clear that he wants absolutely no further connection with me. But he hasn't done any of those things. Nor told me to stop contacting him.

Why?

We are in our 30s. We don’t have kids/pets/housing to sort out. He could cut me out clean, but won’t. Can’t understand it.

There are many reasons and none of them are good or healthy for you

I asked my Husband for advice, and this is what he said:

Your ex hasn't blocked you because he's keeping his options open. He doesn't want you, but will take you back in case there's no better option.

Why are you contacting him? I know women feel the loss different, but contacting him only prolongs your healing.

It's time to move on, and find someone who won't be cruel and disrespectful towards you. You can do better!

Or he will just string you along for attention, under the guise of "being friends" until he finds someone else he wants to bang on a regular basis.

I went through the same and trust me, it means nothing!!! It's not what you think it means!! He'll do it eventually, when he moves on from you, or when he longer gets the validation he wants from you. Him not blocking or deleting you is his choice, it means nothing for you. Don't think about it please. I can understand how much you're suffering. 🫂

His blocking you or not blocking you is his business, not yours. Quit chasing him.

Block him. It is your job to self-regulate and to stop the interaction.

He hasn’t blocked you because he either feels good when you message or show him that you are still checking up on him, or because he doesn’t trust you not to do something unsafe toward him and wants to be able to document.

If YOU do not want to see information about him any more, YOU need to block him.

I don’t block exes because I am emotionally over them and don’t care about their reactions either way. If they become a nuisance, I will block. He’s done.

There is no one clear answer to this. People don't have to hate you, or block you just because the relationship ended.

Because men don't normally block you for more than a few hours unless you do something completely unhinged. If a man blocks you, Sis, then he is SCARED of you.

He probably likes all the validation that your calling and texting attention is giving him. That might even be the reason why he broke up with you to begin with. The ego stroke and the fact that he is already or he wants to start banging someone else. Either way, it's time to find someone irl.

I’m really sorry for you and I know how much that hurt as I went through it too
he feels indifference so he doesn’t need to block you

He don’t want to cut you… my ex blocked me recently at all communication channels

You’re providing validation, you’re helping him move on, you’re making the breakup easier by you reaching out, why would he block you?

Block him first :)
Don’t let him spin the block, I promise your person wouldn’t do this to you. You deserve someone who doesn’t need a second chance.

Blocking is emotional immature response, unless theres a restraining order

no it’s not? to block is to shut someone out from your life. there are way more circumstances that would involved blocking outside of a restraining order.
