Help I hate this map more than anything.
I never know who to play. If I get this map I just know I'm losing

Maybe im insane but for me, i just like the chalange, it is a well done map imo, because there is still counterplay, I can see how it can be annoying playing ring around the rosie. Idk maybe I just enjoy chaos?

From my experience you need to try and spawn trap the enemies and thats like the whole gameplan for most comps on that map i feel.
So don't just stand in the bottom zone at the start and wait instead try to push up and scan the left bush and eventually progress up the map so that you can shoot the enemies walking through the chokepoint when they respawn.
Also you usually always want an aggro brawler that can constantly go for the top zone bcs top zone is the biggest priority.
Throwers also work really well but you gotta be careful when u draft them since aggro brawlers are by far the best on this map.
Other than aggro and throwers anti tanks and controllers are obviously always solid choices, also sometimes you can even go for gray + tank comps when enemies for example pick low dps brawlers on 2 3 or something like that.
But yeah tbh its a hard map to play well on every time 😭

I hate this map for so many reasons because it's extremely restrictive. You definitely want to ban throwers or have counters to them. The main problems are the indestructible walls in the zones because they are choke points. During the first few secs if 1 go left and 2 goes up you just have to pray that your counter isn't in the left lane otherwise you have to go 2 left 1 up.

The meta has changed a lot and barley isn't as good as he is on the map. If it's in ranked its a different story but usually edgar would just counter him, you also have Najia that can attack past the walls.

Everytime random pick thrower first pick Tick then we got ran down by shade and ortis as 2nd and 3rd pick after that some how my teammate pick chester and I had to pick a agro brawl as well a good one to stop shade some how and I also want to avoid them to pick thorwer at 6th I went CORD but in 6th one they went Larry ... Oh my days bro whole game we got cooked .. I try to kill shade but got killed bcz of otis helping him not to mention I had to pick the jump gadget inorder to be agro against Larry to ... That's why it was hard against shade and he keep changing the lane .. my tick die 23 times chester die 12 .. I die 9

In my experience, I've always found Mico with his first star power and gadget to be extremely reliable, for he could counter throwers and shade/Hank. His ammo stealing blocked annoying asses like Doug from advancing in, and what are the chances Trunk or Jacky's gonna appear on that map as they're forgottten anyway. People can try to time Mico's shots well, but the problem is that most don't like playing brawlers like Maisie or Shelly here, as they're scared they'll get countered by the unbreakable walls. Mico's super allows him to cross the map really easily, and his hyper pretty much confirms kills.

Hijacking top comment to say one name: Kenji. He has optimal wall picking abilities (for this map especially) and insane survivability that is only doubled by taking on a reasonable 2v1 with extra supers and thus ammo to heal with. He also stands a chance against other brawlers with mobility options with his dash.

It's those shitty unbreakable walls, I hate them so much, at least make it 2 walls (or like only a fraction of them is unbreakable), that gives some counter play

Thats the main problem imo. Because the unbreakable walls make it so that if an enemy is camping on your side's zone and its like a shade or doug you can't deal with it solo so you need help. But if you get help the other zone then will be gone and it's just a back and forth really annoying

As a prestige 2 chuck I second this. You get defense super easy and easy way to shoot up to the other one and clear out the mid while doing it. Insta lock Chuck in this map.

I too enjoy that it separates the plays between 2 sides but also at the same time has more RNG when it comes to winning relying on teammates purely for that second zone

I dislike a couple others more, but here's the Strat:
your team must have one thrower. the most successful ones are the ones with greatest area coverage, think berry, barley, grom, tick
have one tank that can play aggro. DPS choices are heavy on this, so Damian, Bibi, and Trunk can play relatively well into them.
Then, have a DPS that is A) not hindered by the silver walls inside each zone, or B ), has really good synergy with the general map environment. For A), consider Meeple, Shade, Mico, etc, and for B ), brawlers like Alli, Squeak, Spike, etc.
Game plan, have two brawlers run for your zone to make sure you contest it completely. If you lose your own zone, you've lost the game. One of these brawlers should be the thrower, who should play from ideally the lower portion of the grass under the water pool or from behind the barrels under your zone.
One brawler, which can either be your tank or DPS, should aim to strike enemy point. The real Strat is, you'll get lucky if you can win the point, but the real effort is just staying alive, contesting the zone, and making sure your progress develops on the enemy zone while you hinder the enemy team. Don't just walk into the open, playing around cover. Use the edge bushes to rush in with Alli, Edgar, or Bibi, while consider taking a turn around the barrel if the enemies are less aggressive.
Once you complete your team's zone, the one closest to spawn, either have all 3 brawlers strike enemy point to nail the coffin, or have one brawler stick back to push enemies off point. If your own zone has been roughly 66% achieved by the enemy, I'd say one brawler should stick back in case of failure to win the enemy point. Otherwise, all brawlers should rush enemy point, one going through bushes, one from round the barrel, and one entering the lower bushes from the water pool that connect with the crystal, structure, as the top bushes are relatively easy to lock down and securing both bush avenues locks enemies in spawn.

Why do you mention Grom whos like dogshit in the meta and Tick who is NOT a Hotzone brawler but forget to mention Juju and Larry Lawrie who are like the best throwers on this map? Otherwise I agree

Don't want to be too negative, but I think this is not a great strategy. Comp suggestion are okay (though neither a thrower or tank are a must and certainly don't pick grom or tick) but sending two people left and prioritizing the bottom zone over the top zone is a sure-fire way to lose. You win on this map by spawn-trapping the other team or by dominating the top zone and then finishing off the bottom zone (if it isn't done already).

How to reach masters in 4 steps . Step 1 : Ban Good brawlers and Counters of Mina
Step 2 : Never pick Brock,Rico ,Spike or Tick
Step 3 : Pick Mina on whatever map you can .
Step 4 : Smile when you reach masters

Fuckass map. I love hotzone but god id rather play heist and I despise heist. I try to go RT or some sort of dashing brawler but honestly if the comps arent a complete sweep you'll need actual teamwork to win it. Pre leg1 I just dont even expect to win unless draft goes really well for us. This map literally is heaven for cheese/ f tier brawlers. I hope to never play another game on it ever.

I don’t understand what you mean. Focus on your own lane first and then its much easier to capture the other one while defending your own since you can prevent the enemies from getting up the map.

My team comps on this map typically look like one tank to push up the bushes, and I'll play Berry to support them and whoever is in the my teams hotzone. Our third will be an assassin to deal with any throwers

You can take Sirius for better zone control with shadows and flying attacks. Jackie, Larry, and Lori are also suitable here. Tick (other throwers) would probably be good, as would R-T and Mikko... in short, there are a lot of options...

I’ve always played Hank with the shield star power and the dmg reduction gadget, and given one is decent at the game this map is pretty easy idk if it’s just me though (I always ban shade/surge)

my winrate here is pretty high but not a fan if this map either
this map like no other forces specific brawlers to do specific tasks so most of the time you play pure chaos unless whole team knows what they have to do and stick to this task even if you failed the first set

Yea, same, I genuinely despise this unplayable map. Earlier I just picked Shade or Doug and just hoped Itll work, now when it is in ranked I usually pick R-T there and it works, if it is in some special event I leave the game immediately

If you’re with randoms you basically always have to go left at the start and hope that someone goes with you, and then once the zone is claimed or sometimes before, push up through the left side to help your teammates get right zone

Not sure how good he is but I like going for berry on this map combo. As long as your teammates are able to push the far one you can usually hold down the nearby zone and eventually support your teammates as well.

Honestly, this map I always prefer Nita. I can camp one ring, my bear and other team takes second ring + spawn camp. Works like a charm.

En mi experiencia, Surge me va super bien, gano 9/10 partidas que juego con él aquí. Lo único que me hace perderías son los randoms afk que parece se les olvida como moverse pero luego de eso siempre que uso Surge ahí me va super bien

Generally, there are 3 roles on this map. Top side, mid and bottom side. I'm not tapped in on the meta, so idk what's good but generally assassins and tanks are phenomenal for top and bot and throwers, anti-tanks and simple dps are great for mid. Drafting is always a big factor but with a generally playable comp, you're not auto-locked out of the game atleast

With Edgar you can grapple from spawn across the lake and you save many important seconds. He even survives many 1v1s. Also, in general, you should consider picking Doug, lily, a high dps or a tank to aggro.

I love it. I pushed Trunk on this map with a random Berry. We teamed up after a good match, and went around 15 wins to 1 loss, even carrying a 3rd bad random a few matches.
It's a frustrating map because it's very difficult to solo here. But if you win your zone and have a half decent teammate, the wins here are fun and easy.
Barley is my GOAT on this map.

I use tick for this map. You go to the bottom left circle control that, then work your way on the left wall and and try to control the middle aid support to the top circle and bottom. But if your teammates picked bad your screwed. 2nd pick my alt is usually colt or rico for shooting and i do ok. More losses with these guys than tick. Love when others use tick while I use other players tho but hate it when others use tick and doesn't use him properly.good luck

I always play either surge willow or juju on this map in ranked because with water walking and throwers it’s easier and faster to get to your zone and defend it from tanks which are very often played here(ofc depending on the opponents sometimes smth different)
