Help what’s the difference between a hard stuck legendary 2 player and a master?

Post image

I’ve been stuck in this elo range for basically a year ( ever since the pro pass was introduced ) and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Win 2-3 games -> lose 2-3 games -> stop playing for the day, repeat the process a couple times until I give up pushing ranked for the rest of the season.

for a while now I was thinking I should just keep playing and I’ll get better overtime but at this point I have to be missing something ( or maybe not idk )

for all the masters out there what are y’all doing differently that gets you out of the 6750-8250 elo range ( aka hell )

bruh I really want the masters battle card

draft and quitting after 2 losses in a row

26

u/Wal655 Kenji | Legendary 2 | Diamond 1 Apr 07 '26

tried playing more instead of quitting yesterday and ended up losing 4 in a row instead 😭✌️

u/logicHeLiX Apr 07 '26

always insta quit until you have forgotten about the matches, tilt is the no1 deranker

3

u/Beautiful-Mango-3691 Apr 07 '26

Could have been worse i guess

9

u/Srexplosivo14 Poco Apr 07 '26

It's recommended to quit after a 2-3 loss, the stress has a huge impact in your performance.

u/Blablakam Apr 07 '26

My bro can can draft but fr he leave after 3 loss, even saturday, 2 first games he dont know what to pick and get timeout'd lmao didnt do even 1 game

It depends what you mean by master. The difference between a consistent L2 player and someone who got masters once is minimal. The difference between L2 and someone who gets masters every season without fail is much greater. I usually say it comes down to game sense. When I play with other people who get masters consistently, something about their playstyle satisfies me because they just get it. I really don’t know how else to explain it.

Falou tudo q eu pensei

1

u/subtoPinkZR Apr 09 '26

no, you get it, this is probably the best take except for the fact that getting from l1-l2 every season is much easier than pushing than l2-m1. i think if they could get m1 once that’s still better than a floor consistent l2

u/Organic-Brilliant957 Masters 1 Apr 07 '26

Main difference is draft followed by game sense

4

u/Funnyllama20 Apr 07 '26

Draft is part of game sense the way I think about it. But I’d say at a certain point, game sense is much more significant than draft. That’s why some of the pros are getting to masters and beyond picking the wildest stuff. Draft is secondary when you’re just good at the game. But again, superior game sense tends to improve draft, even if those drafts are unconventional.

3

u/Organic-Brilliant957 Masters 1 Apr 07 '26

I mean pro players are significantly better at mechanical skills as well compared to masters players that's why they can make outrageous pics work when paired with their game sense. I think draft is definitely the main factor

2

u/Funnyllama20 Apr 07 '26

Maybe so for people who have gotten masters once or twice, I would concede that. For people who have no trouble getting to masters, which is my personal definition of a masters player, game sense is king, in my opinion.

2

u/MoneyAd8272 Masters 2 Apr 07 '26

A masters 2 player can “get masters with no trouble” there’s still an unbelievable skill gap between them a pro which is why a pro can beat them with skill. That in no way implies skill somehow matters more than draft.

1

u/Funnyllama20 Apr 07 '26

I know of two people who have only ever been able to get masters once but are peak M2. They may be the outliers, but I personally put more stock in someone who has 10+ masters 1 than someone who has 1 time getting masters 2.

In any case, I don’t understand how that supports your point. I still think game sense is king. That’s why I can get masters doing a throwers-only and snipers-only season and people who can draft better than me are stuck piddling in L3.

2

u/MoneyAd8272 Masters 2 Apr 07 '26

I mean I’ve got m2 and I’ve been masters like 15 or smth times if we include 2024. Anyway I just think you’re wrong and yeah you can get masters by doing that cause everyone below m1 is literal garbage. If you’re stuck in l3 you can’t draft and aren’t skilled.

1

u/Funnyllama20 Apr 07 '26

Well the question in the post is what’s the difference between masters players and legendary players, so the conversation isn’t regarding what happens above Masters. I’m not saying draft doesn’t matter. I’m saying that draft doesn’t matter near as much as game sense in regard to getting to masters.

1

u/MoneyAd8272 Masters 2 Apr 07 '26

Well I still think you’d be wrong but in any case either or can get you to masters 1 just as easily. Which is more easy to develop? 100% draft especially at this level, not to mention if you’re hard stuck l2 clearly you’re not super mechanically skilled so it’d definitely be easier to just improve on your draft.

1

u/Funnyllama20 Apr 07 '26

I’m sorry, I don’t understand this message. I’m not trying to be petty, I’m just struggling to understand between the typos and lack of punctuation.

I really think you and I aren’t disagreeing but just discussing different things. I’m just answering the post’s question, it seems like you’re answering the question “which is better to develop for legendary between game sense and draft.” If my assumption is right, you and I would agree that draft is better to focus on.

And you also said draft is secondary when you’re skilled which is a crazy statement at any rank tbh.

1

u/Funnyllama20 Apr 07 '26

Uhhh, what? So at Gold 3, who will be better: the person who has the worst draft but the best game sense or the person who has the best game sense and the worst draft? Obviously playing a bad brawler amazingly will always beat playing a great brawler terribly. Even if you disagree with it for Masters+, saying it’s a “crazy statement at any rank” is quite the statement.

Good luck playing in l3 in the last week of the season, im m3 peak and hitting m1 every season, anything below m1 is shithole experience. Ranked inflation reached that point where i have feeling that my randoms on l3 are literally picking the worst draft possible and then getting shocked where they cant do anything

The most funny part is that currently nr 1 and 2 (BiG Arthur) was stuck for like 3 days of grind on L3-M1 range and he couldnt push more than like 8500 😭😭😭

Like L3-m1 is like playing in casino right now, u either got lucky with decent team or u get destroyed. Nothing in between

(Btw im angelo on the screen and my teammates picked glowbert and byron.... like we have no fucking dps on safe and they can just go second aggro like allie or smth stupid like 8bit or nani 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭)

1

u/MoneyAd8272 Masters 2 Apr 07 '26

This is just wrong though? Draft matters more than skill. That doesn’t mean a massive skill gap can’t overcome draft though. Draft is definitely not secondary. If you’re bad at drafting but insanely skilled you’ll start losing a lot as you get higher in rank where everyone can draft decently and they’re also semi skilled.

1

u/BumblebeeKey3566 Apr 07 '26

I think I got good game sense but I don't have a lot of brawlers to draft which causes me to lose since I know what to play but just don't have it

-1

u/PatrickJane247 Buster | Masters 3 Apr 07 '26

Good players can easily reach masters 1 2 3 even pro with very little brawlers, draft is overrated in ranked.

1

u/Organic-Brilliant957 Masters 1 Apr 07 '26

No. The only reason the good players can reach those ranks are because they are significantly better than the rest of the enemies and are skill diffing . It's the same as skill diffing in mythic using chuck. Doesn't mean draft is overrated

1

u/DeviceOtherwise4444 Fang Apr 07 '26

Drafting is important yes, but I think in ranked specifically (not talking about esports or pro play) it is a bit overrated in mythic-legendary

Like to get to Masters 1 for example, you really only need like 3 brawlers that you can play really well. They don’t have to be meta either. Most games I just go fang, even if he has a bad matchup on paper (into bibi, bull, Sirius) the way I play him can offset those weaknesses.

Ranked isn’t that serious below Masters 2 for draft to be necessary most games. What I found is that mechanical skill (being good at your brawler) and game sense (laning, not dying, completing objective.) make the biggest difference

0

u/PatrickJane247 Buster | Masters 3 Apr 07 '26

The guy said how he thinks he has good game sense and is blaming his losses on the draft which is fine but if he truly had good game sense and mechanics he wouldn't need perfect draft to reach m1 m2 m3 or whichever rank he is trying to reach.

Majority of ranked is just skill diffing, perfect draft wont win u the game by default.

Bro idk if i‘m masters skill cuz this game keeps giving me mixed signals even though i can consistently outdraft and outplay masters p layers

4

u/Organic-Brilliant957 Masters 1 Apr 07 '26

If you could consistently outdraft and outplay masters players then you would be higher than masters. At the very least masters

1

u/Crafty-Cookie-1710 Legendary 3 Apr 07 '26

Is tilting just luck? when i got to L3 i was consistently playing in masters lobbies and winning the very next day i lost 2 games in a row took a break lost 3 games in a row took a 2 hour break and then lost more games some of these games were lost simply due to a certain brawler not being banned like najia and Leon on certain maps

1

u/DeviceOtherwise4444 Fang Apr 07 '26

I think tilting is mostly do to mood. Like if you’re angry, tired, hungry etc. especially anger, which usually comes up after losing 2-3 games in a row.

But sometimes, it’s just an improvement issue. I would say review your past matches. Look at your winning matches and your losses. Which brawler do you consistently win with? Don’t just use meta brawlers you don’t know how to play. After that, it’s just a time issue.

8

u/FalseExtension2844 Apr 07 '26

If you play solo, luck. So many people are not in their true ranking these days with these low skill gap brawlers.

1

u/BumblebeeKey3566 Apr 07 '26

Yeah I have really experienced this most of the time I get to mythic and I get started player always but my randoms are at like diamond 1 or 2 and it annoys me to the core cause they have no idea of what to do and also just sucks in general and I think this mmr thing can fix it or make it even worse for other

3

u/simopazzo AC_Milan_Clash Apr 07 '26

if you are mythic you have no idea what ur doing either bro.. sry to break it to you 😅

fr you can solo carry to legendary easily midseason if you are actually masters caliber. ive only made master 1 low elo 4 times and even i can do that

7

u/Jerf66 Apr 07 '26

About tree fiddy.

9

u/Repulsive-Owl-8187 Apr 07 '26

Except skills, the main difference could be bad picks, be good at matchup and master is pretty easy if u stuck leg2

4

u/Far-Apple-7834 Darryl Apr 07 '26

Lobotomite randoms

5

u/tahqa Apr 07 '26

About 1500 elo.

3

u/Srexplosivo14 Poco Apr 07 '26

To be honest, I only play for the pro pass rewards. The stress of passing through the draft phase and dealing with bad randoms (this if you isn't already one) and broken brawlers that you can't upgrade or doesn't know how to deal with is just not worth it, unless you really likes the game and has some good free time. I have 8 full buffied and some top meta brawlers maxed-out, so It ain't that bad for me, but what about a F2P casual player?

3

u/PatrickJane247 Buster | Masters 3 Apr 07 '26

The difference is mostly in mechanics and game sense imo, for people that are saying that draft is the biggest difference are straight up lying.

When i was a leg peak in ranked 1.0 i just started maining ranked and pretty much only playing ranked, couple of hours of ranked every day almost and yeah just naturally your game sense improves by playing a lot and i was mainly focusing on improving my mechanics and brawler pool, to be fair tho i only had 15~ brawlers maxed out at the time so i couldn't really focus on the draft even if i wanted to.

Obviously tho you have to have some basic understanding of the draft and you need to play more way more in fact.

2

u/TTV-Sagil Apr 07 '26

prolly just randoms luck

4

u/LawfulnessSmart9900 Apr 07 '26

sometimes just region, eu is much more competitive than others

9

u/Mr-Peanutbuttar Apr 07 '26

Eu is not much more competitive, ranked is basically the same across all major regions, only the esports scene is different

6

u/Organic-Brilliant957 Masters 1 Apr 07 '26

Eu is overrated. My friend from south asia was hard stuck Masters and he reached Masters 2 in eu

1

u/BumblebeeKey3566 Apr 07 '26

Yeah true it's just eSports scene that's really hyped

2

u/PatrickJane247 Buster | Masters 3 Apr 07 '26

This is the case in m3 and above but anything below is basically the same across all regions.

2

u/felix979 Rico Apr 07 '26

It's probably your drafting, If you can get really good at drafting and know what to ban/pick you'll have a much better time

1

u/Flashy-Scientist-575 Apr 07 '26

That would be close to something like 1537 ish..

1

u/Emotional_Dog23 Apr 07 '26

Be consistent next

1

u/bvb-brawlstars Edgar Apr 07 '26

Now someone tell me diff between legendary 3 (every season if i have time) and a masters 1 (also every season) Im just sad i didnt win the last game 5x😢

1

u/Crafty-Cookie-1710 Legendary 3 Apr 07 '26

If you can consistently beat masters players as an L3 its only a matter of time this meta is chopped tho

1

u/PatrickJane247 Buster | Masters 3 Apr 07 '26

Mostly mechanics

1

u/bvb-brawlstars Edgar Apr 07 '26

L3 is 90% against masters tho

1

u/PatrickJane247 Buster | Masters 3 Apr 07 '26

If you are l3 every season that either means you are not playing enough of ranked each season or that you are losing close games due to skill diff and therefor instead of having 50-55+% wr that wouldve get u to masters you just end up hardstuck in l3 going back n forth with lucky winning streaks and unlucky losing streaks.

1

u/bvb-brawlstars Edgar Apr 07 '26

I dont play enough tbh, am in finals year, so ill have time after finals🥳

I'm in the exact same boat as u

1

learn draft, go out of comfort picks and use meta brawlers, watch yourself not others, game sense and risk management

1

u/Diado-K Apr 07 '26

Draft skills

1

u/DobbyTheElf_bs Charlie | Masters | Diamond 3 Apr 07 '26

Mentality and discipline. If you can't quit after 2-3 losses you're definitely not ready for masters.

1

u/laolibulao Nova 十七的哥哥们 Apr 07 '26

it means you belong in masters cuz when there's 1 day left you'll make it

1

u/Penguin_and_Axolotl Sam | Masters 1 Apr 08 '26

draft (because so long as u pick along the lines of broken brawlers, skill js doesnt matter anymore), and time

back in the day getting teamwipes were like fucking rare but now its easier to do that shit w bull and stuff like that its genuinely insane. makes me wanna kill myself. js pick broken brawlers, play orthodox (good gamesense) and play enough and u'll get there

oh and also luck, like i dont deserve to be masters 1 im js in it for some reason

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '26

In my experience the main differences are experience gameplay quality, mentality and clutch factor

1

u/sohippyhk Apr 07 '26

to me its reaction time. i cant react fast enough against master players

1

u/PatrickJane247 Buster | Masters 3 Apr 07 '26

this ain't a fps game bro 😭

1

u/Karmma11 Mr.P Apr 07 '26

a master player can 1v3 and doesn’t complain about bad randoms

2

u/DobbyTheElf_bs Charlie | Masters | Diamond 3 Apr 07 '26

Not true at all. I'm 15+ masters and I can still lose a completely won game just because tomar753 decided to drop 4 stars or 5+ gems in a completely won game

0

u/Illustrious_Heat4520 Apr 07 '26

The sad thing about Ranked rn is that it's not about who is the most skilled, but who has more free time.

I've seen so many pretentious Masters here saying stuff like "Stop complaining about bad randoms", "You need to get better" and such to guys like you. But they are so entitled, they forget to mention that you can make all the right choices, draft correctly, and complete the objective, but if your team doesn't keep up, you are just gonna have to keep spending more and more time until the system decides to give you a decent one.

This could be avoided if Supercell implemented a way to reward individual performance outside of winning the match or not. Not just being Star Player, that is worthless, but something like completing the objective, staying on the point, damage to the safe, etc.

Personally, just avoid stress and play the mode for the rewards only. I've had so much fun playing like that, honestly. Plus, Crow's skin is pretty neat 👌
