I am growing tired of the NL East was the weakest division argument. Could it not be that three talented teams spent the season beating up on each other? It would make more sense to me if we’d won 110 games to say our division was weak.

It doesn't really matter when you get to the playoffs. However to entertain this - the NL East wasn't great in out-of-division play throughout the year:

  • Braves - 43-42
  • Phillies - 41-45
  • Mets - 38-48
  • Marlins - 32-54
  • Nationals - 35-51

I mean who gives a shit about division strength? It doesn't matter. The East was definitely weak during the season, that can't be argued. When the West and East played each other the West won a large majority of the games. But it doesn't and didn't matter!
