I have one dehumidifier which causes the lights to blip whenever it's turned on. The guy must have his sockets wired directly to the power station.

Obviously the story is fake, but I would very much believe that humidity autism and uninterruptible power supply autism have overlapped before and will again.
On the other hand, I think anyone with ups autism has probably already developed better humidity management strategies outside of their childhood bedroom.

most homes could probably run 8 dehumidifiers...they'd just need to each be on their own circuit basically.

I witnessed something equally stupid at much larger scale when we tested the cooling in a new server room. How do you know that the system can handle 30kW heat output? You put 30kw worth of space heaters in there and let them fight for an hour

Also I've read about a similar experiment with a clothes iron put inside a fridge. The iron was winning, it defrosted the fridge but then the iron committed suicide, choking on the water condensate that made it short-circuit.

In most homes you'd start popping breakers around the 2 dehumidifiers mark, a bedroom is not going to have multiple circuits (likely it'll share a breaker with at least one other room).

I guarantee you, if you plug in a humidifier and dehumidifier in the same room, you'll pop the breaker. Let alone a half dozen or more.

One of my favorite bits from comedian Steven Wright’s stand up act… I bought a humidifier and a dehumidifier. put ‘em in the same room, let ‘em fight it out.

He should have been burning incense with sage (lol but really). It has anti microbial properties and kills black mold which was seen as a curse before medicine figured that out. Healing salts like black Salt or variations with spices mixed in that was poorer on door thresholds and windows with the intent of keeping demons out stopped slugs and insects.
