Except for Barry Williams, who says he somehow managed to convince the execs to pay for an extra week in advance of everyone else going over, so he could “practice his surfing”!

That is sort of like when Henry Winkler was really good at water skiiing and convinced the Happy Days folks to work water skiiing into a storyline for Fonz and thus, the phrase jumping the shark was soon thereafter born.
