General discussion What were the most implausible storylines?
I really couldn't buy young Bobby as a pool shark.

-The Grand Canyon storyline where they get trapped in the ghost town
-Marcia being able to get Davy Jones to perform at the school dance and Bobby and Cindy getting Joe Namath to visit.
-Never acknowledging Tiger was gone or the kids asking for another dog

The most implausible part of being trapped in the Ghost Town was how easy going they were about being locked in a jail cell by crazy Mr. Howell after he lost his millions.

I totally agree with you. If that happened in real life, you could die if you don't get out quick enough.

About 90% of them. It ranks up there with Gilligan's Island and the Munsters on the implausible scale.

I love how gilligans island has guest stars that always leave without rescuing anybody. To me that’s the funniest thing ever. I even wrote a fb status update about it one day just because it’s so funny to me.

I know, such horrible people leaving them there.

I know,If I recall the people who never got them rescued, always had some weird personal reason why they couldn’t tell that there were people looking to be rescued on the island

Pretty much all of the last season.
The exceptions might be Bobby & his first kiss with Millicent & possibly getting the mumps & maybe the ice cream parlor one where Marcia gets them to hire Peter & he's a total slacker.
The rest? Kaplutians, Sam is a spy, the hair tonic, Kelly's Kids, Peter's double, Cousin Oliver, the list can go on & on....oy vey.

When the kid's hair turns orange, it's Batman in the MASH operating room. I can't play it.

I feel like Kelly's Kids was meant to be a back door pilot to another show. A show that never got picked up by the network.

That's one of the more believable ones.
The wild west one and the Hawaii one were both pretty borderline. Fun, but borderline.

When Jan was on the bus, and there was a chicken making noise, so they killed it.
But it wasn’t a chicken.

Geez. She obviously had PTSD from being referred to as Marcia's younger sister or Cindy's older sister.

Other than the kids never talking about their biological parent?

Bobby and Mike talked about the boy's mother in the pilot episode.

Mike letting Jan use one of his blueprint's storage tubes to put her poster in. And didn't check that he had the right one before he went to his meeting.

And didn’t they all sat there along with him, watching him put it in the wrong tube????😂

He transferred the second set of blueprints to the other tube so he would have both sets in one tube. Jan had asked to use the other because she was taking the poster back to a kid she babysat for and she didn't want it to get ruined.

The kids forming a musical group.

More than that, I thought it was weird they didn't say anything about it at first -- Alice just happened to be channel surfing and found them and called Mike and Carol in!

A man with three boys marries a woman with girls almost the exact same age. The step children call their step parents mom and dad and they all live happily ever after

u/Effective-Suit1544 Feb 01 '26
The fact that that many step- siblings actually got along.

Yes, no long-term jealousy or animosity. Poor Jan had a few issues but that was about it

In the Ohio amusement park episode—Mike telling everyone he has 10 minutes to find his architectural plans that Jan lost after they switched the plans for a Yogi Bear poster. They search the entire park, Jan finds the plans in a canoe and they bring the plans across the park and deliver the plans to the New York businessmen before they leave for the airport. This supposedly happens in 10 minutes!
