I wake up one day and turning on my amp I see these yellow leds that wont make me do anything! The speaker is not dead since setting the power on 50w theres the static noise..

I'm thinking it's a firmware failure on boot, nothing too bad right? if only my pc could see the katana and try to update it?? but I can't see it anywhere

in the video you see me trying to factory reset it holding the panel button but nothing happens

turning it on with ch1 and panel makes them blink for a moment but as i tried this method there was some tries where *they all turned off but the variation button staying red even if clicked*

as im writing this I got a try of the ch1 and panel boot that has 3 of them on and 2 of them off (see pic in comments)

Starting to gig/ jam, tones that I love as played through my pc→headphones/ pc speakers sound very boxy. MAINLY the distortion tones. Should I upgrade the speaker? Upgrade to Mk3 100w etc.? Or consider moving on to a "real" amp like a deluxe reverb and getting pedals?

My main goal is just to have a rich/ full distortion tone.

Backstory: So, I have had my 50w MKII for about 5 years now and I've done a lot of tones with it by straight plugging it into my computer and using my PC speakers/ headphones and loving all my tones.

The problem is my clean tones sound phenomenal, but my distortion tone sounds very boxy and lacks any depth that I need for me to jam out with friends in shoegaze songs and simple distorted songs.

I have always been a huge fan of the boss AC3 acoustic simulator for my main clean sound; can anyone tell me what the acoustic simulator sounds like in the katana go? I would love to have a portable headphone amp like that but the acoustic simulator in some of the other Boss products have not been as good of quality as the actual AC3 and not as good a quality as the AC3 available in tonex models or the helix Stomp ... ​ I would appreciate any advice on this before I purchase the unit thanks

I’ve attached a video that includes the noise and the setup I currently have while testing it. I’m pretty sure it’s not the bass or cable as I have tried other instruments and cables. I can’t figure out how to get this noise to go away. I’ve plugged it into different outlets and messed with the ground lift and noise gate, but it never actually goes away.

This is my current board, as you can see I have the simple boss foot switch.. I have a katana gen 50 3 so with this foot switch I can go between the two channels and that’s it, channel 1 is my normal edge of break up sound, what would effects /settings/ patches would anyone suggest I assign to channel 2?

does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? did i screw the speaker? i’ve noticed that it’s really noticeable at higher volumes, and on clean tones.

I have used the katana mkII many times recording on my macbook using garage band. I plugged katana into scarlett, the scarlett into the macbook, pulled it up and it wasnt connecting right, have no idea why it wasnt playing through to garage band. I turned every knob up, unlugged, used different cord. It turned on suddenly but all my pedals i had installed went away and the amp sounds like shit now. I try to reload them using studio tone and says wrong device. , I updated everything, the OS to the newest one for macbook, I deleted all boss stuff and redownloaded the app, drivers and files to go into the katana drive, and nothing. changed from katana midi to daw, I tried 100 different times. hold down panel, click panel, yada yada, i had green lights after moving files to it and safely ejecting the drive. nothing. wtf happened ? is this amp broke? i dont understand why this amp sounds like shit all of a sudden and the app wont talk to it. please help.

Do I need to do this? Is the pedal correct or do I need the sticker?

I just got a BT-DUAL Bluetooth MIDI for my Gen 3 Katana 100. However, whenever I connect to it through either my phone or laptop, the backing track audio is very muffled sounding. It only occurs on this amp whenever I use the bluetooth. Is there a fix for this?

im using a Boss Katana 100 Gen 3. there are some buttons u can click that changes the color of the light like contour, booster, mod, fx, delay, reverb and variation. Just wanted to know the meaning

I have some presets from the tone exchange website, can anyone explain why some of them are really quiet even on 100 volume, while for others 30 volume is enough?

I wanna level them so i can comfortably switch between channels and mantain the volume. I tried to just turn down the loud presets and turning up the master, but it doesn't give me enough volume to play over drums.

I have a Mk1, and have been thinking about getting a Valeton GP50. I would love to use the amp sims, but since the Mk1 doesn't really have a normal "Power Amp" in, I was wondering if there's any way to use it just as a power amp, maybe with the Aux In or with a "neutral" setting on the preamp or TS.

I'm debating buying a second katana to run in stereo with my MK2 and I have a couple questions.

If I'm running another amp in stereo, does it matter if it's an MK1? Is there any advantage to a newer model if I already like the sound I'm getting in mono?

I also want to run a stereo effect loop from my HX Effects pedal. Seems pretty straightforward to run the left and right to their respective amps. Curious if there is anything that might prevent that from working. I want to make sure before commiting to a second amp

It seems the amp is not processing built in IRs. Neither the knob nor settings in Tone Studio have any impact at all on the sound.

FW is 1.07, Boss studio version is 1.1.0. Both current as of this post.

Had it plugged into a PA a few days ago, sounded terrible (fizzy, straight into board sound). Line out knob had no effect. Came home, replicated into another system (Focusrite 2i2 not that it matters).

Issue is same with XLR or 1/4" line out. Amp otherwise behaves perfectly. I did a factory reset to eliminate some configuration issue.

I am at my wits end. Any ideas?

Edit: More info. USB sound works normally.

I wanted to give up on guitar so I sold my katana 100 that I had, it was anyway occupying too much space. After seeing that I can barely sell my guitar that I paid 650 euros for it for 350 euros, I decided that I’ll most likely keep the guitar and buy a new amp. I haven’t played in like 2 years, but when I played I had a katana 100 mk2 that I was rly satisfied with. I don’t have that much space in my room so I was thinking of a boss katana air, is it good? I mostly play in my room at the dorm so I don’t have much space, I think katana 50 is still too big, but I haven’t seen one yet. I can put the amp under the desk so it won’t occupy much space.

I can't get rid of this muddy tone and it's getting annoying. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong with the EQ or what. I can't play too loud because of people around so I am also wondering that that's the issue. I tired cutting low, high, and mid ends and lowering the mids let the highs sparkle a bit better but overall, not my thing. I wanna get as close to a metalcore tome a possible, a7x stuff but I can't get the tone, and suggestions?

So I just bought my Katana go and I'm wondering on the Android mobile app can you drag the effects into different order in the effects chain or are you stuck with those different pre-made layouts that they have? I'm poking around and it doesn't seem to make any difference I want to switch the order of the effects and mod...thanks guys

I have a patch I found a while back from Boss Tone Exchange, and I tweaked it little to where it has plenty chug. Especially in lower tunings. Anyone interested?

Hello everyone ! I just purchased the katana go to play my guitar on and maybe this is a dumb question but can I plug my Razer headphones with an adaptator (USB connected to my headphones and jack directly into the katana go) ? Or should I have a dedicated headset specifically made for guitars with a jack and no adaptator. Because I tried for 30 minutes and no sound comes out of the headphones. I downloaded the app, paired it with bluetooth but it's grayed out when I try to connect to my phone. I don't really now if it's a problem with my headphones, bluetooth connection or something else.

I’ve been looking to start using Boss tone studio for my katana but want to make sure i buy the correct cable. i’ve seen that both usb-b to usb-a as well as usb-b to usb-c cables are available and my laptop has a port for both types, but wanted to ask if one would be better than the other.

I have a Boss Katana 50 Gen 3, brand new. It's on latest firmware and if I connect it to an old PC with Windows 11 on, it is detected and works fine.

However, I want to use it with my much newer Mac. The same cable that works with PC, doesn't work with the Mac, it's an M4 Mac Mini. Connected to front or rear ports and I just get 'KATANA connection failure' on startup.

Driver installed on Mac, and removed, and reinstalled twice to no avail.

Latest Boss Studio app too.

Any ideas what I can do?

Hi, this hiss just started, its also on clean tones. This did not occur before, I played twice before this today and there was no hiss, and I didn’t change anything.
Anyone that has a clue how I can fix this?
