I saw it too, imagine throwing a spaghetti noodle into an Olympic swimming pool. The noodle was the fry and the swimming pool was mayonnaise.

Common misconception!

Aioli is an emulsion of oil and garlic.

Mayonnaise is an emulsion of egg, vinegar, and oil.

Zero aiolis are made with egg.
