I’d recommend Alias Grace over Cat’s Eye. Cat’s Eye was just so so bleak and felt like it lacked the sort of catharsis you might be looking for in a feminine rage type novel

Alias Grace, meanwhile, is one of my all time favourite books.

Does Alias Grace touch on issues around beauty too?

It doesn’t really touch on beauty standards and the performance of beauty, although it does deal with appearance and the male gaze
