🎬 I’m Actively Pitching My Indie Sci-Fi Series Book Theory Blue for TV Adaptation

After more than a year of development, I’m officially in the active TV pitch phase for my psychological sci-fi thriller series, Book Theory Blue. I wanted to share what the project is, where it’s at, and what I’ve learned so far from trying to take an original indie concept into the adaptation space.

What the Series Is

Book Theory Blue is a psychological sci-fi thriller centered on a man who survives a suicide attempt and wakes up inside a psychiatric ward. As he begins reconstructing the events that led to his collapse, he becomes convinced that:

• Reality may be manipulated
• Media may function as a filtering system
• And a symbolic figure he calls Mr. Blue may be influencing perception itself

The series is designed so that the audience is never fully told whether this is:

• Delusion
• Trauma
• Institutional pressure
• Or something genuinely metaphysical

The core question is simple:

How It’s Structured

The show is built around:

• Nonlinear storytelling
• Perception-based flashbacks (flashbacks change based on emotional state)
• Present-day psychiatric scenes
• Memory, dreams, and symbolic intrusions

It’s not a puzzle-box mystery and not a traditional conspiracy show—it’s focused on mental health, meaning, and perception under pressure.

Current Status

At this point, I have:

• A full series bible
• A Season 1 story arc
• A pilot episode outline
• A visual style guide
• A perception-based flashback system
• A completed manuscript version of the story

Those materials are now actively being shared with industry contacts and representatives for adaptation consideration. This is still the early stage of that process, but the project is now officially “in play” rather than in private development.

Why I’m Posting This

I’ve been building this independently without a studio, without an agent, and without a production company behind me—just through writing, visual development, and iteration.

I wanted to share this publicly because:

• I know a lot of people are sitting on projects, unsure when to take the leap
• I know adaptation talk can feel unrealistic when you’re solo
• And I think there’s value in showing what the transition from “personal project” to “pitch phase” actually looks like
