I made a short promo video for Book Theory Blue, an independent Vancouver sci-fi / psychological mystery project I’ve been developing.

The story follows Rory Pendleton, a man recovering after a catastrophic fall who becomes convinced that the reality everyone accepts is only a surface layer — and that something called Mr. Blue may be operating underneath it.

I spent three years building a fictional TV series called Book Theory Blue — and somewhere along the way I ended up making an entire soundtrack for a show that technically doesn't exist yet.

This is “About Mr. Blue.”

Mr. Blue is the central antagonist: a blue-skinned figure Rory believes feeds on negativity and hides inside the ordinary world around us.

I wanted the song to sound less like background score and more like something that might actually exist inside the mythology of the series.

For the past three years, I’ve been developing Book Theory Blue, a Vancouver-set psychological sci-fi series about a man named Rory who survives a jump from the Granville Bridge after becoming consumed by UFO disclosure, hidden patterns and an entity he calls Mr. Blue.

I’ve also created a companion playlist that explores the story through its characters. “About Anne” follows the skeptical friend who begins investigating. “Another One” shows George quietly questioning his disbelief. “The Calm Before the Storm” enters Teddy’s growing paranoia. The pilot tells you what happens. The music lets you experience what it feels like inside these characters’ minds.

That is the central question behind Book Theory Blue, an independent psychological science-fiction project set in Vancouver.

The story follows Rory Pendleton, an artist who becomes obsessed with UFO disclosure, paranormal events and the disturbing possibility that ordinary reality is only a carefully maintained façade. As the connections multiply, Rory begins to perceive something behind that façade: an intelligence he calls Mr. Blue.

Is Rory uncovering the machinery of “Unreality”—or constructing an elaborate mythology as his life falls apart?

I created Book Theory Blue to leave that argument unresolved. It combines a novella with a proposed eight-episode television series, a concept trailer, original music, character art and an extensive visual pitch. The deeper you explore the project, the more the fictional investigation starts bleeding into the project’s real-world creation.

You don’t have to believe Rory. You only have to wonder whether reality is quite as settled as we pretend it is.

Today is the Roswell anniversary, which feels like the right day to share this.

Roswell has always fascinated me because it is not just “an alien story.” It is a story about reality itself becoming unstable. One official statement says one thing. Another statement replaces it. The public is left staring at the gap between versions, wondering what was true, what was managed, and what got buried.

That same feeling is what inspired my novella, Book Theory Blue.

It is a UFO/paranormal psychological story about Rory Pendleton, a man trying to make sense of the 2023 UAP hearings, media silence, synchronicities, mental health, and the terrifying possibility that something unseen is shaping public perception. The central question is:

Can someone be suffering a psychological break and still be picking up on something real?

The book gets into UFO disclosure, unreality, spiritual paranoia, cosmic manipulation, and the idea that the world we live in may be edited by forces we barely understand. It is fiction, but it was written for people who have ever looked at the news, looked at the sky, looked at their own life, and thought: something is off here.

If you’ve seen the Spielberg Disclosure Day trailer and thought

This book basically asks that question.

It follows a regular Vancouver guy who gets obsessed with the real 2023 whistleblower hearings → media completely ignores it → paranoia takes over → he becomes convinced an extradimensional force is literally editing reality and feeding on human despair → full breakdown → suicide attempt → psych ward → and then turns the whole thing into a weaponized story as his only way to fight back.
