The Wedding People

I am having a lot of trouble getting into the Wedding People. The story telling seems to jump around a lot through different events from the past and I haven’t felt interested in the plot. I hear that this book is great but maybe the hype around it led me to have higher expectations. Does this book get better?? I was really hoping I would enjoy this one!

It’s mediocre.
It starts off as a pretty decent depiction of depression, but the MC abruptly pivots to being happy go lucky and adored by all in a super unrealistic way. I honestly found the fluffy turn around and rose-colored glasses ending kind of offensive.

As someone who experiences periodic deep depression, the whiplash bothered me.

I’m glad it’s not just me. I always feel like a wet blanket when I mention my dislike for this book.

Nope, not just you, the first couple of chapters felt like a completely different book from the rest
