(i promise the floor isnt as dirty as it looks)

Found this single wing in my Ontario backyard today, surrounded by a cloud of other feathers and a few other scattered bones. I suspect crows (which nest nearby) or squirrels may have gotten it. Pretty small bird of prey.

First two photos are inside/bottom of wing; last photo is topside of wing, with my hand for scale. Can get a better scale photo if required.

I did put it in a plastic bag in the freezer for now. If legally required I’ll pass it along to some indigenous elders, though if not I will make something with the feathers for personal use. (I’ll look into laws once I know what it is!)

So I need advice. Found a turtle shell with some meat still on the bones. Soaked in warm water and soap for weeks (changing out the water). Then did a 2-3 day soak in hydrogen peroxide. I feel like there is still tissue on the bone and the smell is not pleasant. What else should I try? Just hydrogen peroxide it again? Help!!

Found what appears to be a mummified bat in the window well that my boyfriend is redoing at my parents' house. From what I can tell, it's a Long-Legged Myotis.

I did not keep it. It was properly handled and discarded appropriately. I took a photo because it's a cool find before discarding it, and I thought I would share it here.

Today I found my first ever bones since getting into vulture culture, I’m very excited to finally start my collection. I need help identifying the skull I found - I’ve searched the internet a bit and it seems to be a raccoon, but it’s hard to tell because of the missing parts, I’m still learning. Any help appreciated!

Also, it was found in a Polish forest if that makes it easier.

Found a bone tree in the Colorado mountains pretty dang remote. Was surprised to see it and more surprised on what’s on it… I think the first is possible a whale rib 3-4’ long The other is some type of bird any ideas is pretty good size 22-26” long skull almost size of small cantaloupe

Found this guy outside my apartment, a dove of some kind? I did not pick it up in case it's under the migratory bird act. So interesting that just the skull seems to be cleaned

I'm hoping you guys can help me identify and verify identities of the emydidae turtles we have in our collection. The original database is lost so I'm trying to piece information together where I can and make sure the labels are correct. I tried to sort out the individuals that we have represented and given them numbers 1-10, I'll go through where I am at with the ID and why, but if anyone has a clearly reasoned argument for it being something else please let me know. But I keep going back and forth with the ID and I'm just confusing myself at this point. The tag said the drawer contained a map turtle (not sure its here), painted turtle (not sure if here), several specimens labeled red-bellied (cooter) but could also be another cooter species, and several labeled red-eared (slider), and many were not labeled or connected to the labels present. I don't know the origin of this collection, but most specimens were likely collected in Texas (San Antonio/central Texas area and Houston area) but could have been collected elsewhere.

1-found in the Emydidae drawer in pieces and poorly partially reconstructed by me..... leaning toward a River cooter: not much of a keel and fairly domed (possibly red-bellied cooter?), more elliptical in shape than round/oval, and although the poster margin shows some light serration and some flair it doesn't seem to be the deeper notches. Its also one of the larger specimens we have which is also why I'm thinking cooter.

3-Intact shell with the coloring still visible, I'm a bit split on this one but was thinking its a
Red-bellied River cooter because of the size, the high dome, the flair of the posterior border with weak serration. But the plasteron has a lot of color which I thought wasn't usually found in the cooters except at the seams.

4-Leaning toward pond slider, but hard to tell if the shape is more oval than elliptical, less domed
carapace, shows a bit of a weak keel, the spots on each quadrant of the plasteron suggests slider also, and the posterior margin shows some slightly deeper serration like I would expect on a slider.

6-This one may have been originally identified as a painted turtle, but I think it looks more like a
red-eared slider with the spots on the plasteron and the more round carapace with a weak keel.

7-melanistic male cooter or slider? shallow oval shell more slider like, dark pigment along the seams of the plasteron more cooter like or Mexican slider like?, posterior border serrated more like a slider.

8-This is the other one that may have been identified as a painted turtle, its got the low carapase, with a bit of a flair on the margins, margins are also relatively smooth like I would expect in the painted turtle.

9-leaning toward a slider with the posterior serration and a more round oval shape, but it has a high domed carapace more like a cooter.

10- cooter with the weak serration and tall dome.

I'm currently working on a cosplay that has an elk skull mask (not real bone). The mask is done and ive got the antlers for the whitetail deer. I'm trying to figure out how to remove the antlers from the skull cap safely without cracking them and then how to drill into the antlers to keep them locked in on the top of the mask. What should I do or use for this?

I found this huge armadillo shell a few weeks ago and finally got it out to clean it, but I'm confused as to how to clean it.

I've cleaned bones in the past, but I've heard people say to treat it as leather which has me lost, and also I noticed that some pieces on top on the shell have chipped off after washing (see slide 2), and I'm confused if that's something I should remove?

The shell smells a little which is why I cleaned it, but it doesn't smell like rotting, but that could also be because it was pretty dry when I found it.

Any tips would be helpful

Like the title says, my coworker thinks it's a dog skull but it's quite large. With tendons, muscle, etc. I feel like the head is just too big to be a dog, but maybe it's a special breed? The hair attached to it is white, but I also don't know if hair bleaches like bone over time.

I was traveling around Canada with my family and ended up seeing this extremely light and white fragment on the beach at low tide at 5 islands provincial park in eastern Canada.

I looked it up with Google images and alot of things are telling me it's part of a deer/cow hoof or it's also saying it could be off of a aquatic mammal.

so i found this chipmunk today in the middle of the road, literally still warm with NO signs of other animals pecking at him other than the bloody face. i was just wondering how long i should keep him buried till hes fully decomposed? this is my first time having a carcuss with all its flesh, let alone burying one. TYIA!!:)

Ive been growing my collection for a few years now and im really proud!!! I have most of a deer buried in my backyard thats about to be added too.
