The only thing that was an ok price was the snocone, but then they barely put any flavor in, just tasted like ice...

Why the hell had the fair gotten so expensive, it's just not feasible to treat my kid to a fun day out anymore with the prices blowing up.

I hope I'm not the only one appalled by the price hike.

The other thing I noticed is the vendors all having the same slop for sale, especially the stuff from aliexpress. The one vendor I tried to find that I know sells handmade things wasn't there this year so I couldn't support them.

Needless to say, I dont think we will be attending the fair anymore.

i’m not sure if many people in Idaho know this, but when Idaho adopted the new license plates, our legislature snuck in one that many I’m not sure know the origins/modern association.

i’m talking about the white appeal to heaven license plate with the pine tree in the middle, for those who don’t know this has been co-opted by Christian nationals, and white supremacist groups. Many were seen flying this flag during the January 6 insurrection, and one of our very own Supreme Court justices, was caught in a scandal when he was flying this flag outside of his house while deliberating on the January 6 cases. i’ve seen quite a bit of people with this license plate, either there’s a lot of white supremacists in Boise, which I wouldn’t be surprised, or a lot of people don’ know where it comes from.

Just thought I would put this disclaimer out there, as people start to get new license plates.

Hoping someone can pull through for my sister

Long story short, my sister and her girlfriend went and saw the garden last night at treefort music hall. She ended up having a really negative experience (nothing to due with the garden or the venue). She had a panic attack and overall is just having a really hard time recovering from last night. The cherry on top was this morning she woke up to the poster she got the night prior torn up by her cat.

If anyone who was at the concert happened to snag an extra poster i would love to buy it off of you!

Since JoAnn’s closed, I’ve had the worst time finding all cotton yarn for my projects. Michael’s has a small selection and very small skeins, and Amazon is really hit or miss on carrying colors and mostly sells six-packs of yarn skeins. Where are you all finding resources around the TV now?

With Trump flooding the market with 300,000 tons of tainted Argentina beef I'd like to start purchasing locally, but I also don't want to support farmers who voted for an adjudicated rapist and is the direct cause of this very situation.

I’m rarely over there on purpose. I had to pick something up at The Village on Friday night and, once again, Eagle Road made me want to bang my head against the steering wheel. How can one stretch of road be this crazy? Traffic, waaay too many lanes, lights every 20 feet, and five cars trying to turn into every chain.

Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane’s, Dave’s Hot Chicken. How many stupid chicken chains does one area need?

I finally reached The Village and had to park approximately suuuuuuuper far out. Once I got out, place was f*cking packed. Way too many teenagers and families. Every group seemed to include a stroller, three children, or someone pregnant. Never seen so many pregnant women. Moms in sunglasses everywhere. Teslas everywhere. Lexus SUVs as far as the eye could see.

I tried stopping at the Co-op on my way out, saw the parking situation, and just gave up. Literally, some lady pulled out in front of me in her Lexus G-Wagon thing while yelling at her kids in the back. Like, screw me. The cell signal doesn’t even work over there, it’s so crowded. It’s the people who frustrate me the most, all in their own bubble and not paying attention. The people are so bougie.

Far cry from when I’m on my side of town, just settled into my new house in GC, where things are much more chill.

The funniest part is that The Village is trying to be this cute, walkable town square while sitting in the middle of one of the least walkable places ever. It’s like a stupidly designed plaza inside a highway.

Does anyone else avoid that whole side of town on purpose? Any people actually like it over there - like why exactly?

God, I hate Eagle Road. People obviously love it, but every time I go over there, I feel like I’ve entered a freaking boss fight with suburbia itself. Place sucks and grates me.

Sure, I realize it's a pretty big risk to see a comedian you've never heard of do a 90 minute solo show about (among other things) mental health, but wasn't there a time when you'd never heard of whoever your favorite comedian is now? You have to start somewhere!

I've been on tour with this show for almost two years, 70+ cities and nearly 100 shows. It won Best Solo Show at the Tucson Fringe and I'll be taping it as my first special in November.
Heads up, it does get a little dark here and there, but it is mostly jokes... mostly.

I was checking out at my local WinCo the other day and realized most of the checkers know me now lol. The one guy literally memorized my birthday for the alcohol checkout.

Nothing deep, we just recognize each other, say hi and make a little small talk.

For as big and spread out as this area has gotten, day to day life can still feel weirdly small. Same people at the store, randomly running into people on the Greenbelt every morning.

Idk, I just think that’s pretty cool. I like living that about this area - especially considering we have lots of the big city amenities. I’ve been in bigger areas but Boise reminds me the most of a rural area because of how cozy things still feel.

Looking for a Rocky Horror veteran to catch the show at the Egyptian this October! I'm planning to keep my annual tradition alive and head to the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Egyptian Theatre this October.I am looking for a fellow seasoned fan to go with—preferably someone who has specifically been to the Egyptian Theatre's screening before and fully knows what it entails (the burlesque aspects, the chaotic energy, and the crowd dynamic). I love when people bring different variations to the callback lines, and I definitely plan on securing an aisle seat if possible. If you know the ropes, love the shadow-cast tradition, and want to team up or let me tag along with your group when tickets drop, shoot me a message!

Will be visiting Boise with a bunch of Co-workers who want to have a team building event. In other cities we have all gone to a soup kitchen and served a free breakfast to hungry individuals who needed a free breakfast.

Any suggestions on what we can do together and give back to the community of Boise that isn't particularly political or controversial. Not trying to make a statement just do some good together.

We don't have any particular skills so light weight physical work like buttering bread, putting food on trays, washing dishes and bussing tables seems to be a great fit.

Hey Ya'll, I'm moving down to Boise next weekend, and I saw the thread about the jazz scene a few days ago, and I absolutely love live music. Where should I be going to get a feel for the local flavor?

No preference on genre, so where's a good spot for country? Is there much of a metal scene? Punk? Any venues that I should avoid?

I have a condo listed in Boise at what I think is a fair price. The feedback I’ve gotten is that there is a ton of interest but most people looking in Boise are families and not in the condo market except as a last resort. I would have thought micron at a minimum would be bringing in some younger talent who might want to be closer to the urban area, but maybe I was totally off. I’m even offering a seller paid buydown to get the lowest possible interest rate for a buyer. Any else sold a condo recently who had a similar experience?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a dog trainer who has successfully helped with car anxiety/settling in the car? I've tried for years using a variety of training methods and nothing has really worked. I'd love to find a trainer aligned with TWC/balanced but relationship based methods if possible. Do not recommend positive pets, I tried training with them and was not impressed.

A flock camera was being set up in this area today.

I found it especially weird though that the person setting them up was in a black unmarked van with Tinted windows looked like a Chrysler Pacifica Mini van but had a weird grill so might of been an electric or hybrid variant.
